  • I give cam credit for sticking his neck out there and coming up with a list, but in a draft scenario, the most obvious guys you could never take over Curry, if for no other reason, due to their age and being on the downside of their careers(in most cases) are

    Ginobili
    Chandler
    Pierce
    Bosh
    Pau
    Zach
    Parker
    Dirk
    I'm like LeBron James.

I would remove Parker from that list and add Kobe

The reason I singled out Parker is that I see them as similar players - scoring PGs, about the same size - but Curry is 26 and Parker is 32.

          • there's a good argument for curry over a lot of those, but you do not take him over the ones in red:

the draft example is probably a pretty bad way to decide this question since there are too many factors to consider. point is, though, that steph curry at 6 is a joke.

            • Steph ranked 7th in win shares last year. He could jump Gasol this year and that would put him at 6th. Sounds like he's rated exactly right.

Ok, kidding, but ESPN's top 5 is the exact same as Win Shares top 5 from '12:

              Bron - 19.3
              Durant - 18.9
              CP3 - 13.9
              Harden - 12.8
              Westbrook - 11.6
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

I'll give you a few of those, but I don't see why you wouldn't consider Curry over Westbrook. I think it'd be a pretty easy choice to take him over Aldridge and Deron, IMO.

                  • Maybe the most impressive guy this preseason has been Bradley Beal. Good 3pt shooting, not turning the ball over a ton (except 6 in one game, but he also had 30 pts in 33 minutes that game), and really looks like a superior athlete on the court. I didn't watch much of him last year, so maybe he looked that quick all last year too, but he looks really good right now. Great back court with Wall.

                    • And Beal goes for 21 more points tonight on 9-16 shooting (3-5 from 3) and no TOs in 30 minutes.

I love it. He's a monster. Maybe a bit too big at this point. Looks like he could probably stand to lose 15-20 lbs.

He's already lost a ton of weight. Can't remember how much, but he got really big while recovering from his knee procedures.
