John Fox is the luckiest man alive. Gets fired by Carolina and then lucks into the job of figure head coach behind Peyton-freakin-Manning. Shows how overrated coaching is in the NFL. It is all about personnel.

        Disagree completely.

Denver needed someone to rebuild their slow, out of date defense.

        Fox was perfect for that.

Most Chiefs fans will disagree pretty heartily with you on this one. We've had talent, but zero coaching. Andy Reid arrives and we're suddenly 4-0.
Don't worry about people stealing your ideas. If your ideas are any good, you'll have to ram them down people's throats.

Or the impact the return of Sean Payton has had on NO.

Or the way San Fran turned from a perennial loser to one of the top teams in the league under Harbaugh, primarily looking at the improvement of Alex Smith.

But, you know, coaching means dick.

Thank you god for the Seahawks to give us identity, purpose and meaning on this dark and rainy Monday.

It takes several ingredients to bake a cake. Players are important, but so is coaching (as evidenced by the numerous examples above). Pete Carroll in Seattle is a good example. They are better off with him as a coach, but Pete Carroll in Seattle is also better off than Pete Carroll in Buffalo. Bill Belichick (sp?) with the Cleveland Browns and New England Patriots is another example.

yes, Pete is our god. In Seattle it's the arm of flesh, baby.

I know everyone is busy fellating Peyton Manning and rightfully so. But Philip Rivers is quietly putting together a very elite season. 1200 yards passing, 11tds and 2 ints in 4 games with a qb rating of 118.

I ready to put Sean Payton in the very top echelon of NFL coaches.
