    The Jazz offseason

I've been reading quite a bit about the Jazz's potential moves this offseason, and a lot of it is contradictory. Boozer will stay, Boozer will opt out; the Jazz will trade AK, the Jazz won't be able to find any takers for him; that sort of thing.

So step right up and make your calls. Here's a list of current Jazz players. If the space next to their name is blank, that means their contract is completely up this season. A Y by their name means they have a player option for 2009-2010, and an X means they are under contract for the next season. A Z means the team has the option to resign them. Type "stay," "leave" or "trade" next to each of the players' names to make your prediction.

-Andrei Kirilenko X - stay, I don't see anyone taking his contract of $36 million over the next two years.
-Carlos Boozer Y - stay, I don't think he can get more money anywhere else.
-Mehmet Okur Y - stay, ditto.
-Matt Harpring X - stay, is he worth $6.5 million to anyone else?
    -Deron Williams X - stay.
-Kyle Korver X - stay, his 46% shooting from deep vs. the Lakers was nice.
-CJ Miles X - could end up moving. His 2-8 shooting from deep did not impress, and I think he could do more on a team where he got consistent minutes.
-Jarron Collins - I hope to high heaven he goes.
-Brevin Knight - Same here. Not cutting it as a backup PG.
-Ronnie Brewer X - Stay, and maybe he'll magically develop consistency on his jump shot.
-Ronnie Price - Gone, apparently he's fallen out of favor with Sloan, as he played a total of two minutes in Games 1-4.
-Kosta Koufos X - I liked what I saw from him early in the season, and think he'll get more playing time next season.
    -Morris Almond - Gone.
-Fesenko Z - This is an interesting one. Could be the answer to the Jazz's interior defense woes, but I'm not sure that he's a good fit for Utah. Wouldn't be surprised if he's let go.
-Paul Millsap - I'd love to see him stay, but if I'm right about Boozer and Okur staying, I don't know where the Jazz will get the money to pay him.

The Jazz will do very little. Sloan is already talking about how he'd like to keep the core group together, blah, blah, blah. We all know they are notoriously conservative, and I'm not expecting much this offseason.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

      Sloan is an evil genius.

He knows his team is not good enough to contend, but good enough to make it to the playoffs as a lower seed, ultimately going nowhere.

If he starts to rebuild, his team has a less of a chance to make the playoffs and his job is more tenuous.

If he continues to make the playoffs, he knows he has a job for as long as he wants one, even though he will never win a ring with this core group.

So if I were him, I would be saying the exact same thing...status quo and keep cashing checks.
      Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

Here is my vote: Absolutely nothing will change except maybe they bring in a 10th man who will do nothing.

He has it as long as he wants regardless. That much we know.

I would expect them to draft the BWGA (best white guy available).

I think the Jazz will put together a 5 team deal that lands LeBron in SLC for his last non-NYC season.

              Either that or absolutley nothing.

                      Wrong. Psycho-T all the way.

If I were the Jazz, I would draft Patty Mills to back up Deron.

Way to much athleticism for a Jazz big man.

Brockman isn't getting draft by anybody. Not even the Jazz.

I like Mills as a backup as well.

I like Mills, Lawson (probably won't be around), Flynn (same) and Maynor. I'd be happy with any of those.
