Remember, this is the spoiler thread so if you didn't realize that stop reading now. Lochte just faded to a 3rd place finish in the 200 Back final, per Twitter. I'm a huge Lochte fan. He's a guy who has been one of the best in the world at his sport for many years but has always been in Phelps' shadow. Over the past couple of years he became the very best overall swimmer and he looked primed to make London his games. It might be too simple an explanation, but is it possible that his being made the anchor in the 400 free relay then losing the lead ruined his confidence? He's still swimming well, but doesn't seem to have what he has shown the past couple of years. Crazy. I almost think Phelps will beat him in the 200 I/M today.

Not a shocker, but is still a surprise to me considering how Lochte has performed the past couple years. It helps put into perspective what Phelps did in '08 too. He did several of those swims. Doing one now in the 100 fly. Would be crazy if he wins that, I don't think he will.

Final Score - USA 156, Nigeria 73. The previous Olympic record for points scored was 138 by Brazil. U.S. record was 133 and the Dream Team scored 127.

Carmelo Anthony was 13-16 FGs, 10-12 3pt for 37 points.

About the last half of the 4th quarter Deron Williams had 3 or 4 easy fast break opportunities that he backed out and they were trying to use the entire shot clock for that last part of the game as well. Could have easily scored 170, IMO.
