But despite how good he was, it seems like he'll always be saddled with the "should have done more" tag. The guy could have been the catalyst for another championship or two if he took his career half as seriously as Kobe.
Shaq should be remembered as one of the all-time great postseason players. His averages in the finals while a Laker are stuff of legend. Well, at least they should be legendary. But for some reason at a time when in this sport the media and majority of fans love to use postseason results as the end all of comparisons and critiques, it seems like we want to dream up new criteria for Shaq. Like you said, because he didn't dominate over more years as he could have, he appears to be headed to a less lofty position than what he deserves when compared to other historically great players.

I'm looking at his postseason numbers right now and they are just bonkers. I was on my mission for the first two of Lakers championships, so I didn't see any of this stuff. In his first championship he averaged 38 points and 17 rebs on 61% in the Finals. haha...wtf that is insane! And this, btw, came when he was hitting just 38% of his 15.5 ft's per game -- that includes a 39 (39!!!) free throw attempt outing in game 2. That's some serious hack-a-Shaq.

Championship year 2 he averaged 33/16 in the Finals and championship 3 36/12.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

I think they're going on hour #2 of this thing. They've interviewed everyone employed by the Heat. They just got done with Bosh, James, and Wade...and now called up James Jones and Joel Anthony. Doin' it right.

Riles was rocking the heavy pleat in his slacks.

I think that is standard practice for championship parades.

Is Riley going to salsa dance? I may need to hop into a conference room and turn this on for awhile.

Congrats on the title. Bron its going to at worst end his career as the second best player of all time. Of course we really shouldn't praise him for this title afterall he said himself it will be easy. Now, he just needs deliver on six more easy titles.
Lebron is such an ass -- crazy that Ray Allen is taking half the money, giving up millions, to play alongside him for the next few seasons.

Now it's philly's ball with 14 on the shot clock and 14.4 on the game clock. Wtf?

Isn't Rivers in the huddle telling them "if we miss, foul immediately". Evidently not. In fact, he isn't even going to tell them to foul at all. As Philly slowly brings the ball up the court, Rivers is turned around talking to his bench. An assistant has to step in and remind him that they need to foul. 10 second gone in what ends up being a 1 point game.

Nice of Chris Webber to express his trust that Doc is doing the right thing, even though he completely doesn't understand it.
