My old man is saying that the M's are giving up 5 prospects for Jack Wilson and Ian Snell. I don't see anything about it anywhere, however.

The M's have officially given up for the season. Washburn to the Tigers for Luke French and Mauricio Robles.

According to Baseball America neither of these two players were in the top 10 prospects in the Tigers system at the beginning of the year.

The KJR guys spent the whole morning Friday talking about how Luke French was ready to produce right now. And that Robles was maybe the real reason for the trade, he might be the best pitcher in single A or something like that.

French was pitching a pretty good game and there was some decent hitting to back him up. I don't get it, are they gonna fold or are they going to actually try to win something? The WC is not an impossibility.

Great game tonight. Hernandez v. Burhle was a great matchup. 14 innings and Griffey comes in as a pinch hitter and hits a single with two outs to end the game. Time to gear up for a four game set against the Yankees.

Nicer than Matsui at any rate. He had a penthouse in a building I used to work in (this is in Japan), and I heard that he was an ass. Or at least I read as much between the lines in Japanese. Also, had some pretty funky porn (and a lot of it) but that's hardly news.
