Jesus Montero is kind of fat. Taijuan Walker’s shoulder doesn’t feel 100%. Hisashi Iwakuma hurt his finger pretty bad. Franklin Gutierrez is opting to sit out the entire 2014 season with a recurrence of his gastrointestinal symptoms. Pitchers and catchers reported to camp yesterday, and there will be optimistic feelings in the future, but there are no optimistic feelings now, only other feelings, and a desire to not have to feel them. The organization has had better weeks, and they haven’t even overpaid Nelson Cruz yet.

Rotation to open the season is Felix, Erasmo Ramirez, James Paxton, Roenis Elias and Chris Young.
Good lord. Sure hope Iwakuma and Walker aren't out too long.So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

Felix gets 11K's in 6 innings of work; M's take lead in top of 7th to give Felix win; 6-run 9th to seal it. Great start to the season.Originally posted by MarkGrace View PostWinners
Kept my boy up late and watched. He's amped up now for his LL game tomorrow.

Ramirez looked pretty sharp tonight and made some good pitches on the black. Sometimes I forget how young he still is. Rotation is pretty uninspiring right now, but when Iwakuma and Walker get back it's an intriguing group. Felix-Iwa gives you two all-stars up front, and then you have the kids going in the 3-4-5. That back end has a lot of talent, though will likely be hit or miss through most of this season. Paxton intrigues me. His minor league performance was always way below his talent level, and when he got called up last year he absolutely killed. Maybe he'll figure it out.So Russell...what do you love about music?
