  • Goodbye, Ichiro. Safeco will always have the Ichiroll.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

Well the M's dumped him, so there's no real reason to be mad at him. But it's definitely sick to think about Ichiro wearing pinstripes.

          • That's fantastic news. Ichiro is one of the most overrated players of the last decade. I know that reasonable minds differ on this, but I've never been enamored with the guy. In fairness, he hasn't had a decent lineup the last 8 or 9 years, but I refuse to be impressed with a guy who gets on base like a fastpitch leadoff hitter (slap to short-third, run like hell). His arm though? That's, IMO, the most impressive thing about his career.

It's GLORIOUS from my perspective (I think he'll be a disappointment overall). He'll have someone to drive him in now; I wonder if it works out for him.

I can't imagine the Yankees have much expectation for him. He's a shell of what he was in his prime.

If anytying ou should be unimpressed by how infrequently he got on base (always the big knock on him) for a leadoff hitter, not the way he got on base. That's dumb.

                  • They didn't get much in return, though the offset to his salary from the Yankees has to be nice.

I'm not sure what you could expect in return at this point. He asked for a trade and doesn't fit in their plans, so they obliged.

Oh, I agree. I think it was a good trade for the M's

                          • Went to the game tonight. Ichiro got a big ovation from the crowd in his first AB and responded by bowing twice. Singled up the middle and everyone cheered. Then stole second and they cheered again. ha.

Don't worry. The damn yankees make even the worst trades work for them.

Are fing kidding me? He is the most UNDERrated player of all time. If he did what he did in Boston, Chicago or New York they would be comparing him to Joe Dimaggio.
