    • Either takes ball 4 to bring in the go-ahead run. After being down 1-2 in the count. Nice discipline.

            • The Phillies bullpen comes through again. For the other team that is. No lead is ever safe with Philadelphia.

Another 0 run, 2 hit performance by Pedro destroyed by the relievers.

              • well, it would have been nice to win with less help from the phillies, but i'll take it . . . .

                • When I was able to finally turn on the game, it was in the bottom of the 8th with the score tied at one and what's-his-name drawing the walk with the bases loaded. I had no idea that the Phillies lead in the middle of the 8th. until the announcer mentioned that the Dodgers scored 2 that inning.

Sounds like I missed a pretty good pitchers duel.

Pedro threw as good of a game as he ever has. He had only 87 pitches through 7 innings and no signs of letting up-- the 7th inning was just as dominating as the 3rd-- but was pulled (?!?) in favor of Chan Ho Park. The Phillies ended up going through five pitchers that inning.

Pedro was incredible yesterday. He looked like Pedro from 5 years ago.

Agreed. If he's on the mound in game 7, Dodgers fans will have to pray for fielding errors.

As a Padres fan I'm torn between wanting to see the division win it all, or seeing the rival go down in flames. Tough call. But regardless, from the POV of a baseball purist, watching Pedro yesterday was enough to bring a tear to my eye.

pete was rad. I am still annoyed that the dodgers didn't pony up the dough for him. He could be back in blue right now.

Pete has taken the Greg Maddux approach: lose velocity? No problem: learn to use the corners and movement on the ball more effectively. I don't think Pete threw anything faster than 90mph yesterday. And he was dealing the whole game. Velocity is overrated. It is nice to have a closer than can bring the heat for 3 outs. But over 5-7 innings, you need command.

                            Pete still has command.

This is what I was thinking during the entire game yesterday. I couldn't help but think about the steal of a deal we could have had for him this year and didn't make the move. The Phillies made the moves I wanted the Dodgers to make during the season with Petey and Cliff Lee.

I heard a baseball analyst (forgot his name, but a credible-sounding guy) say Pedro has the best change-up in MLB - which he developed in the last 5 years.
