Wah-oh. So Kobe told SI that the players should just accept the 50-50 split if they can still have a full season. Someone gets it. But I imagine this creates some tension in the Lakers' backcourt.

This shouldn't be a surprise, as it is in the financial self interest of almost every NBA player to take the owner's deal rather than miss a month of the season:

So I called two agents today who represent a combined 19 players. They said that all 19 want the players to take the NBA's deal.

I hope the union lets the players vote.

Sounds like the players are split. Half want to take the deal and get paid now. The other half want to decertify. Take the 51% players.

It's pretty clear what side Kevin Martin is on. He's no dummy. Outrageously overpaid for this season and next. Losing half a season costs him $6 mil he'll never get back. Losing only 9 games costs him more than a million. All over 2%?

Maybe Derek Fisher should have spent less time with the collective bargaining agreement and more time practicing layups. Sorry if I don't feel bad for Fisher for not getting paid for his work as the players rep.
