Rich Bucher put not only Russell, Wilt, Kareem, Hakeem over Shaq but also Moses Malone.

I guess that why his job is predicated on making up rumors and not talent evaluation.

At the opposite ends of their careers Hakeem pretty much toyed with Shaq. Shaq was incredible, and probably overall better than the Dream, but I don't know how anyone who has ever seen any footage of Wilt can say Shaq was better. Wilt was special.

Then there's the inflated stats due to pace, the fact that teams didn't practice or scheme defense, and the fact that players just flat out couldn't shoot in that era.

But if watching Wilt dominate a bunch of 6'7" white guys makes you feel he's the GOAT, that's your prerogative.

It is very difficult to compare eras. Wilt was great but was largely unchallenged by the era in which he played. Who knows if he was the best ever? You certainly can't tell by only looking at stats or by watching him dominate the weak athletes that he faced.
