If you want evidence of cougarboard's delusions about Jimmer look no further than this poll.
    http://www.cougarboard.com/board/mes...tml?id=6966688

Basically, saying the Jimmer is going to be the best PG in the draft is saying that he deserves the number 1 pick as the pretty much consensus number 1 pick is a PG.

      I'll raise you this: http://www.cougarboard.com/board/mes...tml?id=6990861

Jimmer shoots, scores, plays better man D and is faster than DWill. Carolina Coug can't understand how one can be considered the best PG in the league and the other is potentially a bench player.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

      • Alright, we're less than a week away so I'll go ahead and unveil my top 20 Big Board...This aint no mock draft, rather it's how I would have them ranked if I were in charge of a draft.

        1. Irving
        2. Knight - this one is with much hesitation, I'm not his biggest fan, but I see too much good and not enough negative about him to take anybody else ahead of him
        3. Valanciunas - this is almost entirely based on Jacob's info
        4. Marshon Brooks
        5. Bismack
        6. Derrick Williams - I wouldn't have much problem dropping him about 5 spots, but his strength, shooting and explosiveness keep him here
        7. Alec Burks
        8. Jimmer
        9. Klay Thomspon
        10. JuJuan Johnson
        11. Vesely
        12. Kanter
        13. Nolan Smith
        14. Kawai
        15. Kemba
        16. Donatas
        17. Faried
        18. Tobias Harris
        19. Justin Harper
        20. Bertans
        21. Jordan Hamilton

        • DX Just posted their "Just By The Numbers" for the guards in the draft - this may be the best thing DX does in regard to the draft each year, IMO.

Interesting board. I know you were high on Brooks, but wow. I gave my top 6 yesterday, and after that, it's too hard to separate the players. I just don't know what to think about guys like Klay Thompson, Burke, etc. I'd probably have 8 guys tied for 10th. I like that you have Faried up there, but he's a poor man's Biyombo, and 4 years older. And you left my man off the list all together. Tsk Tsk.

As for Williams. I haven't watched much. But the stats and athleticism are too much to ignore, so I'm just going with the consensus and leaving him at 2. Plus, he seems like a solid guy and he seems to think he's great--which can be a good thing if he really has the talent. I wish he had been a little more dominant on the boards or had a little less body fat to give him a shot at the 3.

I'm pretty much with you on Kanter. Just no real games to support the lofty opinions. Still, I wouldn't let him fall past 6 or so in this draft.

My list is definitely bizarre, but it reflects for the most part, how I feel. I'm curious who your "man" is, however. When you tell me, I'm sure it will be familiar, but when I think of guys you like, Biyombo and Valanciunas are the two who come immediately to mind.

Did you forget about Tristan Thompson?

No. i've just never been impressed by him. I feel like he's probably one of the best post defenders in the draft, but other than that he doesn't do much for me. That said, he's young and could become very good if he improves his offense.

One thing those numbers don't do is dissuade me from believing someone is going to get a real teal in Reggie Jackson. Because he looks solid in those measures, but his athleticism and wingspan will also allow him to legitimately guard the two back court positions.

I meant Biyombo. He didn't make your list.

Was watching some clips of him earlier. What a freak.

Man, Carolina Coug is on a roll tonight. Apparently Derrick Williams, despite being the consensus #2 player in the draft, can't do a single thing worth a damn on the basketball floor and the only can't-miss player in the draft is Jimmer.

In fact I am statring that he will be mediocre at best in teh nba. His game doesn't translate. He doesn't have a position. He is too slow , can't shoot well enough, lacks lateral quickness, can't dribble well, can't pass well, can't create own shot... He is the size of a three but without three skills. He is game is as a four, but he is too small, short, etc. to play with fours.... Not even as good as Milsap.

The only CAN'T miss in teh draft is Jimmer. He will at worst be average. Erving I would say as well, but Dukies haved issues in nba for some reason and ACC competetion has been WAYYY down, so who knows how good he is....

And Williams, you know the guy who spent half the season throwing down Sportscenter worthy dunks and can't shoot despite his +50% from 3pt range is EERILY similar to...you guessed it, fat ass floor-bound Sean May. Definitely seeing that one.

Wow. He was on there at one point - in my editing, I must have deleted him and forgot to put him back there. He should be just ahead of Derrick Williams. Move everybody back a slot.

Yeah, neither him nor Brandon Knight stand out much in those numbers. But I did notice Jackson is solid in every category - in the middle, but the top half of nearly ever category and in the top 5-7 of a few of them.

Biyombo that high and in front of Derrick Williams? Nolan Smith in the lottery? Nuts.
