Never too early to talk about the 2011 season. I think we can all agree what a great season 2010 was.

Giants resign Huff for 2 years, $22 million. Seems a tad high, so I think his agent won on this one (although who couldn't beat Sabean in negotiations?). I would've though $7-8 million given his age, but oh well, we won a World Series b/c of him, so let's be generous.

I'm just curious to see what happens if Belt blossoms like Posey this past year and gets called up. I guess you can move Huff to OF, hopefully that happens.

Braves getting Uggla makes me jealous. That guy is a stud.

Yankees may pay Lee $140 million to not beat them in the playoffs next year. That's for 6 years and apparently he's holding out for 7. Really?

I know this is heresy for some of you but, I just wish the Dodger ownership situation gets solved soon, so they can do something positive

I may be small, but I'm slow.

A veteran - whether active duty, retired, or national guard or reserve is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to, "The United States of America ", for an amount of "up to and including my life - it's an honor."

Yes I wish this was the case. Unfortunately this offseason will probably be worse than last offseason for the boys in Blue. I hate the McCourts.

Uribe going Blue, 3 for $21M...

The Giants were serious about re-signing Uribe but not three-and-21 serious. He'll be 32 in March, and it was no secret during the postseason the Giants would need to address shortstop -- even if they had re-signed Uribe.

Miguel Tejada and, ahem, Derek Jeter are free agent. The Wall Street Journal reports the Giants contacted Jeter's agent, but they wouldn't begin to propose anything close to what the Yankees are offering (three years, $45 million), which isn't close to what Jeter wants.

Other shortstops could be available in trades: Boston's Marco Scutaro, Tampa Bay's Jason Bartlett, Minnesota's J.J. Hardy and the Mets' Jose Reyes

No chance Giants get Jeter, but I'd love to have Reyes (heard Giants are interested in S Drew too) at leadoff.

Haven't heard anything about A Gonzalez lately? Padres would be dumb not to trade him right now. Maybe something already happened and I missed it.

I read today that the 3 shortstops the Giants are looking at not named Jeter are Yunesky Betancourt, Marco Scutaro and Jason bartlett. By far Bartlett would be my top choice.

Adrian Beltre to the Red Sox, please don't make me sign the deal that Oakland offered.
[ame="http://sports.espn.go.com/boston/mlb/news/story?id=5879045"]Report: Adrian Beltre says he wants to stay with Boston Red Sox - ESPN Boston[/ame]

We need to get out of the Oakland Coliseum now. I really hate Bud Selig. Go tell the Giants to screw themselves and give us San Jose.

Enjoy Lance Berkman I heard he is now Oaklands number 1 target.

Not fully knowing the whole story with San Jose, can you explain to me why the Giants would do this, except out of goodwill? Honest question, I just don't see why a company would do something that doesn't benefit them.

It sadly would be an upgrade at DH for the team. Selig, the Giants, Oakland, and the residents of Fremont have really done a number on the A's killing the franchise off. If Selig really wants the A's dead why not go back to contraction and kill us off quickly instead of bleeding us dry while he looks into the Giants bullshit San Jose claim.

Either that or Lew Wolff needs to show some balls and get the franchise out of California completely. Portland and Las Vegas would be really quick to step up and get things done for the A's.

The only reason they even have San Jose is because of the goodwill of the A's. The short of it was San Jose was a joint market for the A's/Giants. The Giants were looking for a new stadium and asked the A's for the rights. The A's figured it would help them if the Giants left the Bay Area and granted them the rights. The A's were stupid and didn't get a sunset clause. The Giants are now acting like it has been there right for years.

Selig needs to make a decision one way or the other. This whole research into it needs to stop now. Selig needs to say yes or no and stop dragging it out. He should say yes, but I can live with no because it allows the A's to move on.

The Oakland Coliseum has destroyed the A's franchise and they won't be competitive again until the stadium situation is fixed.

Adrian Gonzalez to the Red Sox pending a physical. The pretty much means that Adrian Beltre is done in Boston. The A's have also reportedly pulled their offer to Beltre, I think it is time to put that offer back on the table.

Oh and go to Hell, Bud Selig and make a damn decision on San Jose. You have been investigating this for 21 months.

Very happy about this, would've been great to have Adrian in SF, but I knew that was unlikely, so having him in the AL East will be nice.

The Dodgers have been busy, but I'm not sure what to think of their moves

Uribe - supposedly he will play second base, but with Furcal's health could play as much shortstop as 2nd

Garland and Kuroda - not bad for 4/5 pitchers in the rotation (I hope)

still need a run producing bat in left field to replace Manny and the catching situation is still up in the air Martin was a non-tender

I may be small, but I'm slow.
