That was such a sweet play on the short hop by Posey the plate. He also went 4-5; terrific game for him tonight.

Nice pic, best game of his career. Any writer not voting for Posey as ROY has to feel extremely foolish. The kid is amazing. He's also very well spoken, there's nothing you can't like about this guy. Sat a few rows in front of his wife yesterday...well done in that area as well.

That game was a classic. Some great moments of pitching, fielding, hitting, etc., and in doubt up to the last. Tomorrow night should be more of the same.

Will this finally be the year I get to purge my soul of the heartbreak in October 1962 when McCovey lined out to Richardson in Game 7?

Talking to a Braves fan today, he said he was surprised Bochy put in Wilson in the top of the 9th. I thought that was the obvious choice, put in the closer when you're tied at home. He said Cox would do that maybe 20% of the time. I love baseball but I'm no expert, isn't it pretty standard to put in your closer in the top of the 9th if it's tied?

I actually liked the move. You are the home team you get the last at-bat. I would rather have the last at bat in a tied game then down a run or two.

A closer's job is to shut down the last 3-6 batters and generally they pitch when a team has a lead. I thought it was a good decision to pitch Wilson to prevent runs and allow the Giants have a chance to bat with the score tied.

                Catchers rule.

Posey did a terrific job blocking the plate on this play. It brought a tear to my eye.

I do have to say that as a catcher, Ruiz should have known better than to try to slide. He should have given himself a better chance of scoring by running through Posey.

I thought the exact same thing. It was a shitty slide anyway. He should have blown Posey up. This is your season on the line potentially. Or he should have slid headfirst to the outside of the plate and tried to get under the tag.

Pat Burrell just said that to Roy Halladay as Roy was staring him down after a strikeout.

                    I love the drama.

As a catcher you should have been very impressed by the Ruiz throw in the 9th to get Torres. That was an absolute rope and Torres had one hell of a jump too.

Yeah. Those seem like a couple of relatively mellow guys to get into it like that, too.

I think Halladay was a little bit rattled after giving up the run and was trying to get his edge back.

Good start for the Giants. Get a run on small ball, and Lincecum has been lights out.

My boy has become a Giant fan since I tried to teach him a few pointers off of Tim's pitching style. Hopefully he can become the lefty version

                            Those were 2 crazy plays.

Clearly a foul ball that is called fair. Sandoval for some reason can't find the bag. Halladay doesn't run.

Then Huff boots a grounder all the way into center field. Crazy.

It was a thing of beauty. Torres' jump was so good that I didn't think Ruiz would be able to get him. Boy, was I wrong.
