USA had no business winning that game. Absolutely dominated but hey still a win.

I admit I got teary eyed when they brought out Gaudreau's kids for the photo. My wife full on broke down.

Never let a crisis go to waste!

2 months ago we were at a dinner with a data analyst for one of the US NHL teams (she works remotely). She told us that most Canadian players prefer to play with US teams. Not for the climate some of those teams offer, but for the relative anonymity. Even stars can go unnoticed in some large US cities. Not so up here. The national pressure with all things hockey (from juniors on up) is insane up here.

Lol. Your neuroticism has been funny to watch in this thread. Enjoy the win, buddy!

I super enjoyed the win. I celebrated with my child. I the made celebration American (German remamed) pancakes to celebrate for my son and stepchildren. I told this to my stepdaughter and she told me I’d have made them even if they lost. She is right, contrary to what people think, I’m a big softie. I also cried when they brought out Goudreau’s kids.

                      • I was all excited and happy, but I guess the better team didn't win and we needed sucky old three-on-three to win.

                        Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

                        • That’s sour grapes. While I think the 3 on 3 OT rules just elevates a single mistake into a winning goal way easier than it would with full strength, Canada benefited from it with their win over Chechia.

It's the take of someone who doesn't truly know hockey. USA had a great first period, while Canada won periods two and three. However, the USA had a 5-on-3 penalty kill that showed their grit. While I'm not a fan of 3-3 or sudden death, the USA did what they had to do to secure victory. Plus our tendy was money.

                            • USA is obviously better than Canada otherwise Canada would have won. Our fourth or fifth most popular sport just beat their national pastime. Suck it Canada!

We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

I have to say. I got emotional when they cut to his Dad and saw his emotions. He is deeply missed here in CBJ.
