  • Ice Ice Baby? The 2026 Winter Olympics Thread

Anyone else following the stories about the ice hockey rink for the 2026 Olympics? The ice surface ended up 3-feet short, so they are going to likely have to shrink the neutral zone. It also managed to be less wide than the standard international ice rink.

The still haven't started producing ice as there is construction material where the ice will be.

It is only a few weeks away from the NHL going out there to test the quality of the ice. NHL has already said they aren't sending the players if there are problems with the ice.

That’s wild. I hadn’t considered that it’s important to test the ice with an arena full of people warming up the place.

Team Canada has announced its roster.

I think the only reason that Bedard didn't make it was because of the injury. Schaefer should have been on the roster.

Agreed. The brace will do its job. It's the mental part that's the most hard.

Really liked the Opening Ceremonies. Made me very proud to be Italian by marriage.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

I'm sure I'll hear about this in our curling league.
