  • Pronman's top prospects under 23 is out.

Celebrini, Bedard, and Carlsson are the 3 Tier 1 players. Yeah, Carlsson has been struggling a lot lately, but what he showed earlier this year, he is going to be an elite player. Got to give the Ducks credit, they went against the consensus drafting him over Fantili and were right. Also, they were also right about Bennett Senecke (who is rated 12).

As much as I enjoy watching Arty, I think it was a mistake drafting him over Demidov (8th - Tier 3).

Mammoth one of 2 teams with 2 players in the top 10 (Cooley - 5th: Tier 2) and Guenther (10th - Tier 4).

Kantserov and Nazar both jumped up a ton in the rankings from last year.

    Blackhawks players:

    Bedard - 2 (Tier 1)
    Nazar - 22 (Tier 5)
    Kantserov 23 (Tier 5)
    Levshunov 35 (Tier 6)
    Frondell 44 (Tier 6)
    Dach 71 (Tier 7)
    Rinzel 72 (Tier 7)
    Moore 82 (Tier 7)
    Boisvert 95 (Tier 7)
    Nestrasil 104 (Tier 7)
    West 107 (Tier 7)

I know the term was a mismatch. I was looking for a slur against Canadians in general, especially because I don’t know one for Calgarians. I was hoping the board’s two Canadians (do we need to include NWC now?? I don’t know) wouldn’t see my post. I guess the NHL thread was the wrong place to express that hope.

Yeah. It was great. I was at Tuesdays game against the leafs. That was a fun game but not super exciting because it wasn’t close.

The game last night was excellent. Maybe the Mammoth’s best game of the year. Moving Guenther onto the same line as McBain has been productive. Hopefully that lasts a while.

Vegas v. Toronto was a lot of fun last night. Knights win in OT.

                        • I'm impressed by the Knights ability to once again get one of the top names available in the trade market near the deadline. I don't know anything about the prospects they gave up, but that team is in perpetual win now mode and Anderson is a decent replacement for the corpse of Alex Pietrangelo.

Also, eff the Flames. I hope every single prospect that they got fails miserably in the NHL.

                          • Wheeler's draft rankings now out. He has also dropped McKenna out of the top spot. It is starting to look like another defenseman heavy draft at the top. That isn't ideal for the Blackhawks. I got why the Blackhawks went with Arty over Demidov, but it is looking like a mistake. Maybe that will change over time.

                            https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/695...nberg-mckenna/

I'm hoping that the Blackhawks can move Connor Murphy, Dickinson, and Mikayhev at the deadline. Open up the roster spots to bring in Frondell after his season is done in Sweden, bring up Boisvert, and try to get Kantserov over earlier than next year. I really think seeing what Kantserov can do in the NHL is going to tell us a lot about this rebuild. He is 21 years old and the best player in the KHL right now. He is putting up big numbers.

As much as I think there is value to the Blackhawks being in the playoff push, I think at the end of the day settling into a top 5 pick is better. Tynan Lawrence would be a really good fit for this team. McKenna and Stenberg worry me because it would be another small forward. We already have Bedard/Nazar/Kantserov that are on the smaller side.

                            • Last night's game felt like a turning point for the Mammoth franchise. Not that they are going to gain confidence and win more games. That is unlikely. They've already been winning like crazy since the start of the year and we are guaranteed to see more losses going forward.

What is different after this "game of the year" last night is the buzz of the fans on social media and stuff. It has seemed to catch the attention of a lot of people and there was a lot of buzz on social media. It was really something that will help build and solidify the fanbase.

Unfortunately, I did not have tickets to the game and watched on TV.

If you can watch a replay of it, it is well worth it, especially the last 10 minutes of the 3rd period and the overtime. I tried to find good highlights, but they don't cover everything. If the whole game is available on ESPN+, I recommend it.

Basically, the Mammoth didn't show up to start the game letting in a goal within the first 30 seconds and then a second withing the first 5 minutes.

Things really started to get interesting with about 8 minutes left when a Flyer (Noah Juulsen) took exception to a hit by Jack McBain and picked a fight with him. Juulsen proceeded to get beat up by McBain. Utah got a powerplay from that episode and proceeded to score a goal to come within 1 of the Flyers.

Utah pulls their goalie with about 2 minutes left in the game. The Flyers at one point have a clear shot on the empty net, but Hathaway takes too long and gets the puck poked away from him by Schmaltz, to keep the lead at 1 goal.

There were lots of scares over those last few minutes, but finally Clayton Keller scores with 35 seconds left to tie things up. This is the first extra man goal in franchise history. The other day they got their first shorthanded goal as well.

It goes to overtime and Keller and the Mammoth score to win the game.

All in all, a tremendous comeback that I'm really not doing justice to. Go check it out.

                              • The Blackhawks should stick to Moore as the second line center and Nazar on the wing with Bedard.

Moore has really been a much better player at center.
