Yeah no way Rice should have slipped that low.

I remember this because I had been able to snag Rice in the 8th/9th round in all my other drafts...then I open my big mouth and lose him in the CUF league. Doh!

I will not reveal my draft strategy to anyone. Just know that a three-peat is on its way.

Remember how much Funk ripped on my team last year yet I kept plugging along winning week after week.

Didn't you finish about 5th or 6th in the points standings, yet still somehow manage to handily win the title?

              Ridiculous. I was 11-2....11 and 2!

The fans are getting restless. Time for the Fightin Feathers to deliver another title.

Last year was insane that such a mediocre team could get lucky and win it. It was like the St. Louis Cardinals winning the World Series in 2006. Everyone knew that they weren't the best team, but somehow luck favored them. I was very similar to the Minnesota Twins in the 2006 World Series Playoffs. The best team going into the playoffs, but beat by a team in the 1st round that played above themselves.

The league I have been in the longest and that (no offense to this group) is the most sophisticated group I play in top to bottom HATES a playoff for that reason. We did it one year and didn't go back.

That makes zero sense, thats what makes sports fun the playoffs. Limping in and then getting hot at the right time. They must all be huge fans of the BCS too?

Yeah, I must say that I agree. I mean, I finished with the best record last year, but I got bounced and while that hurts to the core, it's better than people quitting when they lose 5-6 games because they know they are out of it.

Did a live draft today after work with a league I am playing in there. It was kind of cool. The commissioner reserved the back room of some Italian restaurant and had a huge draft board on the wall. Everyone had 2 minutes to get their picks in. You had to go up and write your pick up. It's a 12 team league. I was picking 8th (order was picked out of a hat). I was not happy, but I am pretty happy with my roster. What do you think?

                          QB - Kevin Kolb
                          QB - Jason Campbell
                          RB - Ryan Matthews
                          RB - CJ Spiller
                          RB - Reggie Bush
                          RB - Clinton Portis
                          RB - Donald Brown
                          WR - Andre Johnson
                          WR - Marques Colston
                          WR - Greg Jennings
                          WR - Eddie Royal
                          WR - Louis Murphy
                          TE - Jermichael Finley
                          K - Stephen Gostkowski
                          DEF - Cowboys

I was surprised that Andre Johnson was there at 8. He and Brees were available and I went with Dre. Some anomalies from the draft. Tim Hightower taken in the first round. Peyton Manning went # 3 overall. The NYJ defense went in the 5th round. As did David Akers. One guy was unable to make it but had given his list and position order and said to take the best available. We used the Yahoo! 150 list for this and any picks not made in the 2 minute time allowance (everyone got their picks in). Poor guy ended up with Sidney Rice and Vincent Jackson on consecutive picks. Rothlisberger went in the 8th or 9th round. That was a head scratcher.

I wish I could have done better at RB. I took Ryan Matthews with my second pick and by the time my 3rd pick came back I took Colston. And since Jennings was still there I took him 4th. It was tough to pass up those two receivers for mediocre RBs.

Snaking drafts blow. Auction drafts are the way to go. Then your fortune isn't tied directly (or indirectly) to the order drawn out of a hat.

There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

Yeah. They were going to reverse order it based on last year's results, but four guys bailed so they just picked names to be fair. The league is $25. $10 goes to weekly high score. The rest goes into a pot and money paid out to 1st-3rd with 3rd getting their $25 back.

You should be able to turn Jennings or Colston around and trade for a little bit more solid RB. Matthews has break out potential and Spiller and Bush will get touches but neither will be the featured back. Portis will get an easy 1500 yards.

One thing I love about drafting is the surprises...last year we had McNabb and Brady go 2 and 3 respectively, allowing me to take MJD at the 7th pick, which is pretty much highway robbery.

The CUF draft is on Tuesday and it goes in reverse order from how we finished last year with Sizzle replacing Scottie.
