    • What exactly was Ozzie Guillen's problem today? Pine tar? Really?

Exactly. Harper comes out smelling like a rose yet again for not falling for this dick's shenanigans.

          • Triple in the 10th to tie the game at 4...let's see if they can win this.

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

                • Bases loaded, top of the tenth, Harper knocks in the go ahead. Responsible for all the runs tonight so far.

EDIT: Zim knocks in three more, Harper makes a great read to be the third of those scoring from first.

                  • Harper has been playing much better over the last few games after being abysmal following the All Star break. I still think he is gripping too hard and needs to relax. I'm sure that is hard to do for someone his age, but smashing your bat in splinters in the batters box as he did last night shows me he is a little bit too fired up. I'm not worried about his level of passion, obviously.,

                    • It's amazing that his averages and %'s have regressed to almost exactly mirror the projections statisticians were making for him when he was called up. I wish I could find a projection I saw, but if memory serves it's almost right on the money to his current numbers.

                      • It was just a question of time before MLB pitching caught up to him. Still a very solid season so far for someone his age.

Definitely. It will be interesting to see what Davey Johnson does going forward. For a while it was starting to look like he might be rotating Harper and Tyler Moore (though he denied it) depending on whether the starter was a lefty or righty. But as of late it appears that Bryce has shored that situation back up.

I believe Harper will be great for us for years to come. But as of right now my man crush has shifted to the Beast.

And it was a bit surprising that it didn't happen sooner, as minor league pitching had already seemd to catch up to him as he advanced.

Agreed. I'd even say it's a solid season for any age, especially a rookie. He's more than proven that he belongs at that level.

                              • I thought his power numbers would be stronger at this point. A .250 average is about what I expected, but 12 HRs at this point seems a little low for a guy with his strength, athleticism and apparently legendary bat speed.
