Pretty detailed (and long) article tracking the unraveling of Tiger after his father's death.
It was an interesting read. It sources Hank Haney's book about Tiger several times. I read that book and really recommend it. But I don't remember getting the impression from the book of how out of control Tiger's obsession with joining the Navy had become. Maybe Haney never knew the full extent of it. Crazy stuff.

I'm really curious to see how Tiger does this week. I've heard he's going with Bridgestone balls and a TM driver. I hope he shoots a 90.

The internet is buzzing with videos of Tiger hitting a TM M1 on the range this week. Plus he's got a new bag sponsor: Monster Energy. Seems appropriate.Originally posted by RC Vikings View PostI'm really curious to see how Tiger does this week. I've heard he's going with Bridgestone balls and a TM driver. I hope he shoots a 90.
He's also debuting one of the ugliest golf shoes of all time (which is saying a lot, given some of the previous TWs):

They remind me of the Nike Air Raids circa maybe 93-94. Thankfully there is now 2-3 releases of Jumpman golf shoes every year.

Resurrecting Tiger
I totally got a pair of those (black and white--not red) for x-mas in 8th grade. Christmas 1992, to be exact.Originally posted by HuskyFreeNorthwest View PostThey remind me of the Nike Air Raids circa maybe 93-94. Thankfully there is now 2-3 releases of Jumpman golf shoes every year.

There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

I was surprised he went low with a 65 one day and didn't finish last but i would still be shocked to see him ever win again. He made a lot of birdies, probably should have kept that Scotty in his bag these last eight years.

Tiger made the most birdies of the tournament this last week (24). I'm willing to bet he also made the most double bogies (I think at least 4). He's shown a lot of his old game. I think he can win again if he stays healthy and doesn't really push it too much physically. You can tell in his new swing there's a lot less movement in his lower body, which should help with his back and knee issues.Originally posted by RC Vikings View PostI was surprised he went low with a 65 one day and didn't finish last but i would still be shocked to see him ever win again. I'll always cheer for Tiger. He makes the game more interesting. And I don't approach sports with Puritanism. I really don't care how many women you've banged or what drugs you've done or whatever, off the field. If you make the sport exciting, I enjoy watching.

I care. My interest is directly proportional to the number of confirmed bangs.Originally posted by jay santos View PostI'll always cheer for Tiger. He makes the game more interesting.
