I thought the Jets were the 6 seed, but I guess it is the Ravens. So a Ravens win means the Jets would go to San Diego and Baltimore would go to Indy."They're good. They've always been good" - David Shaw.
Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

That Packers v. Cards game was an all-time classic. The refs were definitely letting the receivers do what they wanted, but there were tons of unbelievable catches being made by two very talented receiving corps. That catch by Greg Jennings along the sideline was ridiculous. It was a nice contrast to the sloppy play that was seen in the two outdoors games of the weekend. I know it would piss off the football purists, but the league would be better off if every stadium outside of California and Florida was a dome or had a retractable roof (although AZ has a dome for a different reason, it gets too hot in September).
I think I picked all the winners this weekend in my post on the first page, but I think I said that B-More was going to be playing the Chargers this weekend, so I didn't understand the seeds.
Anyway, B-More vs. Indy is going to be a really good game. All in all, I think B-More is the better team than the Jets, but I think Indy matches up better with B-More. Indy's big vulnerability is its inexperienced secondary, but I don't think Flacco will be able to take advantage of it. Over the past several post seasons, it seems like Indy has also been able to stop the run. B-More has probably the best LT-RT tandem in the league so that neutralize Freeney and Mathis, but Indy has some quick LBs that should be able contain the Ravens' running game. Oh yeah, teams have been able to pass on the Ravens. So, I think Indy can make it to the AFC championship.
San Diego vs. the Jets won't be as good. I think San Diego is going to win this by around 10 points. The Jets have a great defense and I think a huge reason why is Revis. The Jets could shut down every AFC team in the postseason except for the Colts and Chargers. The Chargers have 3-4 huge receivers/TEs and Revis can only cover one of them. So, the Chargers will score at least 21 points and I don't think the Jets will score more than about 10 points. The Chargers have a pretty good pass defense and Sanchez will have problems with it. I don't buy that since the Chargers are weak against the run, the Jets will be able to run on them. San Diego has enough talent in the front 7 to stop the Jets' running game since it doesn't have to devote anyone else out of the front 7 to stop Sanchez. This will be a relatively easy win for the Chargers.
The best game of the weekend will be the Cowboys vs. Vikings. Both teams are very talented but have crappy coaches. I think Brad Childress is significantly crappier than Wade Phillips. It takes a true moron bring in Brett Favre and then tell the 18-19 year vet to not audible at the line of scrimmage. Favre has played better this year because he's only had one really cold weather game- that game a few weeks ago at Chicago. Neither team, talent-wise, is really weak in any given area. To a limited extent, I think the Vikings are having problems along the offensive line which teams exploited late in the year. But I'll just give the edge to the Cowboys due to superior coaching and momentum. (then again, the Vikings WILL have a pretty good home field advantage, this is the toughest game to call this week).
Cards vs. Saints...like I mentioned a week ago, I like the Cards. That team has been drafting out of its mind the past few years (we'll give a mulligan for the Leinart pick, most teams would have picked Leinart at that same spot). Fitzgerald, Breston, and Doucet were making incredible catches yesterday. I don't know how a questionable Saints' secondary will stop them. Woodson is possibly going to be the defensive player in the year and he got destroyed yesterday by the Cards. On defense, the Cards seem to give up big plays in the secondary and this would normally pose problems for them when playing the Saints. However, they have some guys on the front 7 that seem to come alive in the playoffs (Berry and Dansby) and we saw that yesterday, holy cow.Last edited by Color Me Badd Fan; 01-11-2010, 08:31 AM.Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”
