They got what they asked for. This is what Cutler does. Next week he will come out and throw for 2 TDs and 300+ yards for a win.

That's the first time I've been able to see him play this year, but a few points:

1) Putting on my CJ hat, 3 of those interceptions were not his fault. On one, the ball was on the money but the receiver slipped. On another, Hester stopped running his route. On another it was a blatant PI, and should have been called.

2) It looks like they are trying to make him a pure pocket passer, which is clearly the wrong way to use him. I didn't see a single designed roll out, which is where Cutler is at his best. That's not to say that he can't throw from the pocket, but rolling him out and letting him throw on the run helps keep the D honest.

3) He had little to no time to pass last night. His pocket was often gone as soon as he set his feet.

4) He has no weapons to throw to. Olsen is a decent TE, but his WR are Johnny Knox (who?) and Devin Hester (a return guy).

I'd still rather have him than Kyle Orton, who has looked like absolute garbage when he has faced good defenses this year (Cin, Bal, Pit).

Maybe you can follow Mel Kiper and CMBF from 2 months ago and pick Jake Locker! He is at least the 8th best QB in the Pac 10.

This guy is an obsessive draft nut and he's done pretty well in his predictions over the past several years. He has Jake Locker going #2 overall.

You can ignore what NFL people think, but it doesn't make it any less true- Jake Locker, barring injury, is going to be picked in the first round.

Cutler isn't a bad fantasy QB. Last week, he was huge - he got me over 50 points in my league. This week he was still respectable (only a few points below his projected numbers) even with all the interceptions and no TD's.

I have him in two leagues and he hasn't been bad. In the one league, we don't have very many points per 10 passing yards so it makes it tough when he doesn't get TDs, but he'll have a few more good games before it is over.

I agree with this, especially the misuse of Orton. Against teams that don't play aggressive defense he has done fine in the pocket, but all a team has to do is pin their DL's ears back and let them fly and Chicago's OL is practically useless. The OL has cost us more than a few games this year.

Every Ute fan should be secretly hoping that Clawson goes out this year.

I could care less about Clawson. I will be much more relieved if Weiss still has a job.

He looked pretty bad last night. It's only ok to be a "gunslinger" when you make more big plays than INTs.

They interviewed Alex Smith after the game and he said that it was nice to be on the other end of a 5 INT performance.
