If Chad Ford is right and Turner-Johnson go 2-3, then the Jazz need to be on the phone all day long with Minnesota. There is no way they want to draft Favors or Cousins and keep Love and Jefferson. So they'll be moving one of those or the pick, because they can't draft anyone besides Cousins or Favors at 4. I'm not sure what Minny would want from the Jazz in addition to #9 to make a deal for #4. And I really don't want Jefferson or Love alongside Memo.

Mannix says the Jazz have been very active and he thinks they'll make a move.

Hmm...spencer (utah)
will the jazz make a trade tonight? or if they don't who will the pick
Chad Ford
(12:36 PM)
I think they're exploring a lot of deals. Kevin O'Connor, in my opinion, is one of the top 5 GMs in the league. He's looking at lots of different scenarios. I could see the Jazz picking up a second first round pick somewhere in the teens. So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

Uh, no thanks on that bit of advice.David (Provo, UT)
Doesn't Greg Monroe belong in a Jazz uniform? Any way he drops at all or for Utah to move up to obtain him?
Chad Ford
(12:34 PM)
I think the Jazz would've liked any of the players in the Top 7 -- Monroe included. Yes, he would've been a good fit. But if he's gone they're faced with either Ed Davis or Patrick Patterson in the front court or Xavier Henry, Luke Babbitt or Gordon Hayward on the wing. As of this morning the team was still debating what to do. So ... I'll just give my two cents here. I think they should take Hayward. So Russell...what do you love about music? Still not sold, Chad!Mike-OB (OB)
Chad, I cannot decide if Gordon Hayward is way undervalued or way overvalued. Thoughts? I wouldn't mind having him on my team though.....
Chad Ford
(12:44 PM)
I like him. He's not a superstar. But he's got a great basketball IQ, he's a good athlete and he I think he could return to that great shooting form we saw as a freshman. He also has potential as a good defender. As a No. 2 or No. 3 guy on a team, I think he has a lot of promise. I think 9 to 15 is the right range for him.So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

I guess I'm just too cynical if I'm not wanting to spend a top 10 pick on a shooter who hasn't shot it well for over a year.Originally posted by MarkGrace View PostStill not sold, Chad!
"He's a great shooter...at least he was for one season in college on the shorter three-point line and before defenses really started paying a lot of attention to him. But we still believe he's a great shooter."

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

I'm not sure if that's true or not. I mean, Boozer is not a FA yet, so technically he could resign with the Jazz and be moved as though he were never a FA at all. Right?Originally posted by Jacob View PostBut no sign and trade can occur until July15, nor can be discussed or agreed upon until July 1. So, without a guarantee that a s&t can happen, I doubt the Jazz can use that to move up."They're good. They've always been good" - David Shaw.

I would prefer Babbitt to Hayward. An executive with a team that's targeting Nevada's Luke Babbitt fears Utah will take him with the ninth pick.

In addition, teams cannot trade players under the following circumstances:
When the trading deadline has passed. Teams are free to make trades again once their season has ended, but cannot trade players whose contracts are ending or could end due to an option or ETO.
