It was nice to watch John throw again last night (I haven't seen him forever!) and yes he still has a cannon and he makes it look so effortless. Man, everytime I see him though I can't help lamenting that he wasn't born with Max's moxie.

So does Beck by now. But neither of them have much game experience with it which is a different thing. I am hoping that Beck will make some big strides during the first few games. I mean, he should.

Did anyone see the Skins' last preseason game tonight? I didn't, but Beck's numbers in the box score don't look that great.

He made a couple lousy throws and a couple great ones. It's tough to judge since he was playing with scrubs. He was running around a lot and got no help from the running game. It was his worst game of the preseason.

Fans around here are reacting to Beck's performance last night the same way people seem to be reacting to Jordan Wynn's performance last night. Seriously. Most of the opinions were that all Beck did last night was lose the job to the very clearly superior Grossman.

There's a segment on the Redskins MMQB show called "What you liked, what you didn't like and don't overreact." I think it's great to use these three items as an evaluator...especially early in the season or in the preseason.

I would still like to see Beck be the starter, but he didn't help is cause last night and the Shanny's might not think he's ready.

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

The difference is Wynn was playing with his first string against a clearly inferior opponent. Beck was getting pressured all night. Evan Royster fumbled the ball away on the second play of the game. He had receivers in the entire time that aren't going to make this roster. It's tough to take anything away from that game IMO. I really think Shanny has his mind made up and it's been made up for awhile. It's Beck. And if it isn't I'll be shocked.

It doesn't matter who the opponent is...the conclusions people are reaching are the same. "Beck can't throw down field," "Beck has a weak arm," "Beck's accuracy (especially on the deep ball) is questionable at best." My point is that people are overreacting in both cases, IMO. That's not to say that theres nothing to be worried about...but people are so overreactive to one performance that they just throw their blinders on...and what do you have? People coming to the conclusion that Grossman is clearly better.

Did you hear Theisman last night comparing Beck and Grossman and he made the comment that Beck might have a stronger arm than Rex? I about fell out of my seat. Grossman doesn't have a Wynn arm, but he doesn't have the cannon Beck has.

But that's exactly my point...people don't know that but they just trot it out like it's a fact.

Well most people don't know who Wynn is.

Agreed. Considering he was playing with the scrubs I think Beck did all right.

Did you guys see Ted Bruschi on ESPN last night say that the starter would definitely be Grossman? He said that it was obvious that since Grossman was sitting with the rest of the starters that it was obvious he would be the starter.

Hope he's wrong. Kind of sucks when the "analysts" know less that the casual fans, but maybe we're the idiots here.

Fortunately or unfortunately, the national media has stopped paying attention to the Redskins since they stopped trying to win the offseason.
