That is sad. Those bikes are beautiful, even if they are a tad expensive.
"Guitar groups are on their way out, Mr Epstein."

Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.

    • 20 miles at daybreak. Nasty hot humid weather. I took six days off last week and feel like I lost my groove. Need to wok my way through it.

Too bad you didn't have time to swing by for a ride while you were here.

(That and the fact that I've help clean road rash off someone who didn't have shaved legs - and I didn't want to experience that in the event of a crash last weekend.)

              • 20 miles on a day where I feel did not feel like riding. When I was done my ride I felt great. Cloudy with a nice wind and below 80 degrees. I'm ready for cooler weather. I seriously don't know how many more summers I can deal with the humidity.

                • Knocked out 20 miles at a decent pace. The temps have dropped and it's good to be riding. Still not where I was before vacation but that will come with time.

                  • I've had a tough time getting out riding lately. Got in 6.9 miles this morning.

Keep at it. Yesterday I did not feel like riding at all by the end of my ride I felt great. Don't listen to the voice telling you to skip a day. Keep at it.

The frame sagged, and I thought I'd broken the suspension. Turned out it was the frame instead. Sure hope Santa Cruz has a spare rear triangle hanging around somewhere. The bike's a 2005 model.
I'm back on the trail again after my son welded the rear triangle. Santa Cruz didn't have any 9-year-old parts hanging around, and the only things I found online were entire bikes, not just rear triangles. Fortunately, my son is a very good welder and was able to re-weld the frame. I taped it off and sprayed with rattle-can primer and automotive paint, but it looks like it's chipped already. Oh, well, just shows it really gets ridden.
