Unless there is a chance for a goal. Then they are up and at full speed immediately.Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

The two guys behind him almost went into the wall as well, but they were able to save it (although they lost all momentum and were passed). It seems like that triangle-shaped patch of resurfacing was where he lost it; the other two were able to turn inside of it."What are you prepared to do?" - Jimmy Malone

That's a good guess. Something locked up his front wheel as he went over the top, almost slo-mo. Probably combo of sudden deceleration from the lip and his too aggressive braking. Painful to watch.Originally posted by Dwight Schr-ute View PostAll I was able to come up with was that there's a bit of a lip where the new asphalt was, catching his front wheel for a split second throwing all of his momentum forward before giving way sending him on completely off balance.PLesa excuse the tpyos.

What devices do you guys use for tracking while you ride? Do you have them mounted on the bike, or do you carry them on your person?"I think it was King Benjamin who said 'you sorry ass shitbags who have no skills that the market values also have an obligation to have the attitude that if one day you do in fact win the PowerBall Lottery that you will then impart of your substance to those without.'"

I use the Garmin 305 which is good but not the best for just cycling (I forget the number, but there's a Garmin with a much larger display and mapping). But mine is also good for running and I like to go both ways. I have a rubber bracket thing from Garmin that allows me to strap it to my handlebars so it looks like a regular bike computer. Get one, or something similar, and join us on Strava.Originally posted by Pelado View PostWhat devices do you guys use for tracking while you ride? This is what I "do." I have a Garmin 405 and wrap it around a mount on my handlebars that was for a Polar HR monitor. Works great. (The quotation marks are in reference to the fact that I haven't ridden my bike in over a year. That's enough to make me want to give up on life.)Originally posted by PaloAltoCougar View PostI use the Garmin 305 which is good but not the best for just cycling (I forget the number, but there's a Garmin with a much larger display and mapping). I'm now following you. Looks like you get in more miles per month than I'm doing per year.Originally posted by PaloAltoCougar View PostWe'll we should hook up, then. BTW, I erred in describing my device. I used to have a 305 but I switched to the newer 310 model; essentially the same thing.

And I'm following you. Don't be put off by the miles some of us are able to crank out. I'm genuinely impressed you're able to get out at all, given everything you have on your plate. When we had kids at home we exercised very little. On my first ride, I managed six miles and (seriously!) I thought of calling my wife at the midpoint to tell her how far I was from home, knowing she'd be in awe of my accomplishment. Tomorrow morning we'll go out for our usual 40-miler, but with no soccer or baseball games, dance or music lessons, or major ward assignments to worry about, I'll spend the rest of the day eating and watching TV. Life gets better, my friend. Until then, keep working on the cycling and fitness with whatever time you can scratch together, and it'll pay off handsomely down the road.Originally posted by Pelado View PostI'm now following you. A lot of my riding buddies are really getting into cyclocross and I may have to try it. I get a little burnt out by September and it's looks like a good way to mix it up a little.Originally posted by Dwight Schr-ute View PostThis looks like a riot.
