No matter how much any of you bleat, the fact is that Utah's admission to the Pac 12 was a momentous, positive event for Utah, and not a good development for BYU. The fact that Utah has been more than competitive in the Pac 12 just enhances the foregoing. The consequences are taking time to unfold, but there are profound consequences developing.

I don't know what the answer is for BYU. It's put itself into a box. Probably bolting the MWC just made matters worse.
Calling K and Hill out as pssies is just having fun by taking their unbelievably lame excuse at face value. I think most here understand exactly what Hill is trying to do as made clear by Dave Rose's interview yesterday.

Side note: more than competative? Let us know if you ever break 0.500 overall in conference play in football or basketball.

Maybe it's time to admit your AD kind of sucks? He fell ass-backwards into the Pac 12 so congrats to him I guess. If that giant douche "Kodiak" pans out as a successful coach, he might be back to even on his coach hiring record. But his PR skills are about as good as the promotional videos he allows to be produced.

But you forget he lives for the turd polishing. It's intriguing and better drama than the games!

From the beginning my mission here has been to help you all. I don't think the self-delusion that's encouraged by your culture is a good thing. I think it's an albatross. Undeniably, Utah will never recruit stride for stride with at least half of the Pac 12 schools in either football or basketball. It won't win as many championships as those schools, for that reason (though Utah has a better basketball tradition than any Pac 12 school except UCLA and Arizona). I've said this over and over again to my Ute brethren to encourage them to count their blessings and get real with their expectations. But Utah most emphatically been more than competitive now that football has made the adjustment and basketball has recovered from Boylen (indeed, we probably were able to hire Kodiak only because we were in the Pac 12). The football team was the second school to beat every other Pac 12 team. You are well aware of football and basketball's other achievements in the Pac 12 or since joining the Pac 12. It's interesting that you are keeping assiduous track of Utah's overall winning percentage in the Pac 12. I think BYU and its fans would be better off if they just moved on. As I said the other day, this has become the We Hate Utah board. How ironic that JL took Ute out of the name.

Good heavens, you are embarrassing yourself this week.

Calculated move? More to gain? The only possible explanations are:

              1) petty, short-sighted spite
              2) chickenshit - we can't run the risk of starting another losing streak to BYU

Yes, that is calculated I guess. But we are talking about a game that is a guaranteed sellout and a game of national interest regardless of the arena. This is not football where you have a very limited number of games. This is basketball. Your coach has a well-established history of padding the schedule with cupcakes when he is rebuilding.

Just like the football game, this series will be renewed and Coach K will go down in the rivalry history as a coward and you are going to look like a dumbass for having been an apologist for him.

Finally, please don't ever again claim that you love the sport of basketball. Leave that to those with some credibility left. You hate BYU more than you love college basketball.

I am not a big fan of Chris Hill. Everybody knows that.

Better basketball tradition than anyone but UCLA and Arizona, yet they still are losing the head to head with BYU. Sounds like you are saying BYU would be the 3rd best team in the pac-12. Thank you!

All you're saying is you disagree with their calculus. Other than that, we agree. I'm not sure if they should have done this, but I know why they did it. I understand the rationale. There may be no right answer. And yes, I'm sure they'll play again.

BYU is the Cincinnati Bengals of college basketball--in its best years.

Utah has beaten BYU what, three in a row, twice in the MC?

No. Once at BYU, twice at home. Your coach just canceled the contracted game at BYU.
