I agree at this point. I grew up in Utah. My family was split between Utes and Cougars. My mom worked at the U of U computer science department. I attended BYU (briefly). I have always enjoyed the rivalry and the game experiences it has given me. When Utah joined the Pac-12 I posted what was, admittedly, a somewhat overwrought prediction that the move had unalterably changed the relationship between the schools. The pace of that change was even faster than I expected. As much as I would like the rivalry to continue, I think BYu should move on. If they want to play, we can put them on the sked as available, with an appropriate liquidated damage clause. Otherwise, good riddance.Originally posted by New Mexican Disaster View PostThis is the second confirmed case of big timing by the Utes in five years, not to mention the bitching about the bowl game. Time to move in a different direction in all sports.
We don't need to beg.PLesa excuse the tpyos.

In the event of breach Nick Emery gets to punch Brandon Taylor for real.Originally posted by creekster View PostI agree at this point. I grew up in Utah. My family was split between Utes and Cougars. Not really. The coach is responsible and Hill let it happen as AD (and holy cow- what a breach of duty). Utah fans that try to assign blame otherwise are delusional. Clearly.Originally posted by Applejack View PostThis is an unfortunate event that will leave the Utes with egg on their face and deprive fans of a good game. Unsurprisingly, the latter (the game) is of less importance than the former (finding someone to blame: Larry K, Chris Hill, Emery, Joseph F. Smith) to a good portion of both fan bases."I'm anti, can't no government handle a commando / Your man don't want it, Trump's a bitch! I'll make his whole brand go under,"

Yeah. Holmoe is going to really put Hill through his paces before he'd put ink to another K. Good luck with that one, Utah.Originally posted by creekster View PostI agree at this point. This isn't big timing. This is Krysko telling the world that he prefers intramural sports to the real deal.
Maybe this is a dumb question - but I figure I'll ask as it came up during a conversation with a co-worker and it made me go huh. Does Krysko have aspirations to coach at a school bigger than say Montana or Utah? If so - what are the chances of any potential interview including a discussion of his thoughts about cancelling games against rivals? Would something like this give pause to AD's looking for a new coach who doesn't want to ever discuss removing a rivalry game from the schedule?
Didn't seem to me like it would be a consideration. But the more insistent my co-worker got, the more it made me think.

Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!
For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

If I were the AD, I would be worried about what kind of leverage Coach K was going to try and get on me, and what kind of backing he had, before hiring him.Originally posted by Eddie View PostBig timing?!?

He will blame it all on Hill. And he should. Hill should never allowed it to happen.Originally posted by Eddie View PostBig timing?!?

Apologies if this has been posted.
Krystco Used to be tough
It was two days before Christmas in 1985 and the holiday spirit hadn't quite seeped into Dahlberg Arena yet.
In fact, Larry Krystkowiak found himself on the arena floor with the arm of a Washington Husky around his neck.
Krystkowiak, then a senior for Mike Montgomery's Grizzlies, dived head first for a loose ball, nothing unusual for the tough-as-nails All-American. Apparently, some of the Huskies took exception to the rough play and some shoving ensued. Then both benches emptied as players paired off.So I guess the question is, did K become a pussy before or after he became Utah's coach?n the waning moments of the game, Krystkowiak was fouled hard from behind and swung an elbow in retaliation, prompting Russo to scream at the officials that Krystkowiak should be ejected.
"That's the way it's going to happen any time you have two big, physical teams playing that hard," Russo said.
"It was just a good, old-fashioned basketball game," Krystkowiak said.
