I take back the harsh things I said about Emery last night. I've looked at that frame by frame. I agree Emery swung in the direction of Taylor's abdomen, and missed completely, probably intentionally. Taylor went sprawling on the floor soccer style, holding his face. The angle of the camera was a perfect storm for Taylor and he had that instinct. He probably meant no real harm either. They were a couple of kids horsing around in the final, meaningless seconds of the game, and Taylor hoodwinked Emery. Very funny, actually.

yep, but you forgot to mention Taylor poking Emery in the eye just before the punch - it adds to the hoodwinking.

You’d think that incident, as ugly as it was for the university, would have forced some conversations where athletes would have been told similar incidents in the future would under no uncertain terms be tolerated.
