    Beat the utes 2015

If the Belmont game can have a thread, the Utah game needs one. Utah is still mostly getting a pass from the press based on last year. They've had a pretty good schedule but so far they're clearly not as good as last year. Their defense has taken a step back, while BYU's is better. At least the numbers support that idea that in both cases. It also seems BYU found its identity on offense in the last game. If they pick up where they left off, they should give Utah a really tough game and I like their chances to pull off a tough win on the road. Historically in this series home court hasn't been that big of an advantage anyway.

I like this thread title. It's aspirational. It's plaintive. It's a bit desperate. Bravo!

The data points just seem too few to draw probably conclusions. Was the Belmont second half a sign of things to come? Starting slowly against the Utes could be the death knell. Will Kaufusi stay out of early foul trouble?
"Guitar groups are on their way out, Mr Epstein."

Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.

If Fischer is over the #slump then we should take this one. We haven't looked like world beaters by any means this year, but we have some great depth at the post and KC is a monster. Emery got here just in time, looks like, so if we can stop turning the ball over and hit a FT or two we should be good.

I am hoping our sluggish start was just a ploy to make the utes overconfident.

My son's AAU team beat Krysko's son's AAU team last night, so that's a good omen.

They let a winless and awful SUU team shoot 50%. The SDSU win would look a little impressive except that SDSU is 3-3 so far this year, including a 49-43 loss to Arkansas-Little Rock. The Aztecs are normally anything but explosive on offense but they got their second highest point total of the year against Utah:76 points. For SDSU that would translate into about 100 points for BYU.

I'm just praying that Austin doesn't pull a hamstring right before the opening tip.
                          Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Seriously. In a close rivalry game like this, I really like the competitive advantage and experience he brings to the table.

There is no Delon Wright this year to cover for the awfulness of Taylor, Isaiah Wright and Tucker.

Taylor: 15-49 from the field (.306)
                              Wright: 5-17 (.294)
                              Tucker: 5-21 (.238)

Let those guys jack it up a lot tomorrow night.
