14.5 ppg in 25 minutes as a true frosh? That's bad? Come on.

Just for fun, Jimmer's freshman stats:

        FG: 40.7%
        PPG: 7.0

Only had 2 points against their best competition in Duke and Missouri on 0-8 shooting. I would have liked to have a little more killer instinct against Marist, as he only dropped 13 against them, as most of the people that attend that school at real A-Holes.

I am very optimistic about the next few years. I watched a number of the Lone Peak games (all of the televised ones) when the boys were nationally ranked. I personally liked Nick Emerys game better than TJ's. I think Nick has tremendous upside, and that he will continue to improve quite a bit over the next 6 months in preparation for next season. He is not that far removed from having mission legs, a fairly extensive thoracic/shoulder surgery and a big foot injury, and look what he did the latter half of the season. I love his fire and aggressive style. Going right at and putting his shoulder into Fernandez last night on a couple of those driving lay-ups were things of beauty. Plus he is my 10 year old daughter's favorite player. He was very kind to her when she was all shy and blushing when we met him after the Santa Clara game.

I think we are going to miss KC more than we think early next season, in much the same way that we struggled to find our post-Haws identity this season. I think Emery and Haws will fill much of that void, but there are certainly to be some growing pains.

Elon struggled and when Duke focuses upon arguably Elon's best player, I imagine it wouldn't be hard to make any player play poorly. From everything I've heard, he will be a nice addition and I look forward to see the newest iteration play.

I mentioned frosh part in my post.

By themselves, 38% and 35% are not good. Yes, he was just a frosh, so taking that into account, he's fine. It was never meant to be a negative comment about him as a player.

Aren't they relatively average for a good college ball player? Especially when he is a guard and mostly shooting jump shots? How often are freshman guards shooting better than 40 percent from the field?

Holy hell. I said the numbers by themselves are bad. Take into account he was a frosh, not so bad. Sheesh.

I'm sure Elijah Bryant will be a great player for BYU and apologize to the board for any slight hint of criticism.

Still not good numbers or great numbers as suggested by Jay. Both Seljaas and Emery, as freshmen, posted better shooting stats. I also didn't point out his 2.7 assists to 3.5 TOs. By no measure are they great numbers and it would be a stretch to call them good numbers.

Folks, we have a new double-down champion contender!

So you're saying 38% FGs, 35% 3pt, 2 assists and 3 turnovers are great numbers or good numbers?
