After his sophomore year, Jimmer looked no different from the guys I compared him to. He had just played 33 mpg and averaged 16 ppg. He was also only shooting 38% from 3. Frankly, he looked like he had reached the apex of his career. He looked like a serviceable combo guard. His junior year against Arizona was the first time I saw a potential NBA player. Frankly, I'm surprised at anyone who saw him as an NBA guy earlier than that. Hell, I was one of the few who didn't criticize his game when he was a HS player and we all got his video on CB.

On the subject of Davies, I still think we would have been better off if he had been able to redshirt last year. I won't retract that statement at all. He only gave us 5 ppg last year at 13 mpg and couldn't guard the water bottles in practice (at least not without fouling).

Who knows, maybe Haws will come back from his mission and be the best player in the country. I doubt it but just like with Jimmer, I'll cheer early and often if he does.

I can't believe you even tried to defend the earlier proposition. You are one of the most knowledgable posters on this forum, but still.
