Any player who bugged the Utes so much they claim enduring hate, I too love. I was a Cooper fan anyway, but their angst over him endears him all the more.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostI love Nate Cooper so much.
Whenever around my Ute friends, I mention Hall as often as possible without being obvious as to my motives.

I played with Nate Cooper a few times when I was a young pup and he seemed nice. Of course I got gonorrhea afterward. Still I can't hate him.Originally posted by mpfunk View PostI don't dislike Fredette. He wouldn't even make the top 20 of my most disliked BYU basketball players. Nate Cooper is obviously the most hated cougar of all time.

Winder, Haws, and Halford will be gone next year and I would expect new players to fill those gaps. Fischer will continue to provide what he provided this year, shooting and leadership. His minutes will probably increase a little and his numbers may increase in kind. But we'll need Bartley to step up as well as a couple of new players.Originally posted by byu71 View PostI really worry about Fisher. Can be an excellent catch and shoot 3 point guy. I don't think he can drive and dish very well or finish like Winder. Not sure how good he is defensively. As a shooter who can get hot, well I think he is good at that.
Also, a lot of Winder's numbers came as the fourth guard/wing in a small lineup. I expect to see contribution shift from the back court to the front court next year.

Worthington awkwardly dry humps his man without paying for his dinner.Originally posted by TexTechCoug View PostSabonis looks like a very talented player, however, he was pretty amped and aggressive and managed to get away with a ton of contact. Worthington got called for holding position where Sabonis essentially ran into people and hit their arms as they were shooting, yet avoided getting called for more than a couple of fouls. I was surprised out how hard he was allowed to swat and hit guys underneath without any consequence. Just an observation after watching some of the highlights.
What a fun win. I really hope that Rose can finally get the "never wins the conference tournament" monkey off his back. A great finish with a team that played a huge portion of the season with no experience in the post and no resemblance of a defense or rebounding would make for a great season.

3b): Jimmer?Originally posted by mpfunk View PostYou mean the guy that played a huge role in Ute basketball going to shit and then talked shit about Ute basketball when we fired his incompetent little buddy that we hired?
Look, it is still Chris Hill's fault for hiring Giacoletti, but Few's glowing recommendation of him played a major role in hiring him. Few did a ton of damage to the Ute basketball program. If I'm ranking the people most responsible for what happened to Utah it is 1) Hill; 2) Boylen; 3) Few; and, 4) Giacoletti.

I can't recall if it's been mentioned, but I continue to savor the nice sequence with around 3:00 to play when BYU turned it over, but KC ran down the fast-breaking Zag and hit the ball away from behind, then after a couple of passes got the lay-in +1. A possible five-point swing there and it helped stop any momentum shift at a critical time. There were at least a couple dozen key plays but that one is a fave. Frank IV's swat probably wins on style points.

Seljaas and Emery seem to be freshmen capable of major contributions, but you just never know.
