Crazy to think even with all the Aggie whining under Dave Rose we have played 3 at the spectrum, 3 in provo and 2 at ESA. We go to Logan next year which means after that game they will have a 4-3 home/away advantage.

MacBook and $5,000. I leaned over to KC and mentioned that he was lucky but unlucky, as those things are often for $20k or more.

OKC has 7 makes in the last 50 home games. The bank that sponsors it doesn't have insurance and pays it out each time. They pay out 20k like you said.

The last guy to make it plays college ball for a NAIA school and had to turn down the money or lose his eligibility.

Tyler Haws had 11 points in the first 4 minutes. He made 1 more fg the rest of the game. Yet we still pulled away. That is a good sign.

That's been one of the highlights of this team for me. Multiple legitimate scoring options, so things don't necessarily freeze if one guy gets cold. BYU doesn't always have that luxury; it's been fun to watch.

Yep, 22 points out of Bartley and Halford is pretty cool. The same number of points that Shaw and Medlin had for USU -- not bad.

I am rewatching the game right now. Still blown away by Bartley missing the layup on that in-bounds play.

Just now watching the game. Gotta say- that last student section battle was amazing. I couldn't hear what the stupid Aggie section was saying during the free throws or for the rest of the game for that matter, but I heard that "get your own cheer" line When BYU responds w the I believe we will win that was the ultimate 'how do you like them apples' level comeback.

As for the game, KC is indispensable as the utility guy on this team. He's the one corralling all the tough rebounds, grabbing steals in the paint, just doing work keeping us in every possession. Love that kid.

To clarify, there was no real battle. The Hurd is an amazing student section. The ROC is great and gets better each year, but the Hurd put on a clinic all game. Hopefully this inspires the ROC to new levels.

Inreally enjoyed the atmosphere of the game. Seating was such that one half of the arena was BYU and the other half was USU, set up the way the cotton bowl does with OU and Texas. It made for great drama.

Bartley was great. That Carlino dunk attempt ranks below the one against UW last year but he is slowly putting together a sweet lowlight reel of bad dunks.

Zero minutes for Luke Unworthington last night, so thank goodness for the lack of fouls against Drago.

After Iowa State, Texas, Wichita State, and Utah State, playing North Texas is going to be a buzz kill. Bring on the Minutemen!

I agree. The Hurd is awesome.

Thanks to DH for the ticket last night. We were sitting in an Aggie section, and just about everyone around us was great. One older guy showed up wearing a BYU shirt, got to his seat and took it off to show that he had a USU shirt on underneath. It seemed like he kept switching off between shirts throughout the game - kind of odd. There was also an old lady behind us that kept going on about the "BYU Cheaters" every time a foul was called. And when the ROC started up the Just Like Football chant she zinged us all with "At least we have a Conference."

I don't understand why Worthington isn't taking more minutes from Austin. Austin has no post game and hasn't really looked for his shot in the last three games. Luke is a much better defender than Austin as he actually plays defense with his feet. Austin has yet to grasp this concept. If the coaches can have Luke simply set some picks and play Defense, he can really help this team with bigger post players.

In WCC play that shouldn't be much of a problem with the exception of Waldo at SMC and Gonzaga and their bigs.

*On a side note, I was talking to this Utah Fan at church today and he said that Utah should be able to give BYU a run. Boise State will lay the wood to those guys next week and that will give the Utes a good dose of wake up juice.

BYU will beat Utah by 15 on their own floor.

I loved that. You could see him mid-air thinking to himself "Oh s&#^, I'm not going to make it", and transitioning to a layup. He didn't even have Shawn Kemp as an excuse this time. I wonder if Carlino has never dunked it in his life, but in the heat of the battle suddenly thinks "I can totally do this!" Oh well, at least he made the layup this time.

Carlino isn't the only one who gets like this either. Sometimes I think this BYU team may be the most aggressive team in the country right now. There was one sequence in the second half where I swear the entire team took turns taking the ball hard to the hoop, getting swatted, while Mika got the rebound and passed it back out to whoever was next in line. I think that if this team went back in time and played LSU in the 1992 NCAAs, Shaq would have gotten about 30 blocks instead of the dozen or so he actually got.
