Kyle does average more rebounds. But the discrepancy is almost entirely on the offensive end - the defensive rebound % for both players is almost identical at 17%. On offense, Kyle gets 7.4% while Delon is around 4%. I would bet that most of that difference is based on scheme - Delon is never asked to crash the boards on offense - he's the first man back.

As for shooting, that's where Delon is the clear winner. Even though he shoots 3s like a young or old Andre Miller, his effective shooting percentage is 61.4%! For someone who can't shoot threes, that is an amazing stat as ESP favors good three point shooters. No need to discuss FT% - Delon is the more efficient shooter, and it's not close.

And we didn't even talk about defense. Delon is 5th in the nation in steals per game and averages a block and change every game as well.

Kyle will certainly improve next year. I expect his shooting will improve and his rebounds/assists will tick up as well. But I doubt he gets near the ESP of Wright this year. He could also close the gap by hitting some free throws.

I'm just hoping Kodiak can convince Delon that if he sticks around for another year, Chris Burgess will teach him how to shoot 3s.
I do find some irony (DDD a ruling?) in Delon not being able to hit anything from the outside, when his brother is only in the NBA because he can shoot threes.

that actually is correct if you assume that 3 point shooting can run in the family.

Does jumping to the NBA too early run in the family? I hope not.

What are his prospects? Most sites don't have much on him.

Dont worry. You mentioned Chris Burgess earlier. As long as he is involved somehow, Im sure your guy will not go to the NBA.

DraftExpress has him going 30th in 2015 (last pick in the first round): http://www.draftexpress.com/nba-mock-draft/2015/
              NBADraft.net has him going 31st: http://nbadraft.net/2015mock_draft

Obviously if he leaves this year he'd probably go lower than that (because of this year's depth). But I worry that his brother (who has been in the league for 9 years despite ill-advisedly skipping college) will be in his ear with talk of "you can make it - look at me!"

You need to pay more attention to the action in the Hunty. Have you seen the magic Chris Burg is performing on our current crop of big men? He's converted them from 3 worthless stiffs to two almost competent basketball players and one worthless stiff.

He continues to disappoint 9 million BYU fans!

RPI on the other hand is completely different.
RPI is a strength of schedule measure of SOS and nothing else.

Obviously that is not true otherwise it would be called strength of schedule. It is also a measure of how you do against that schedule. If all that mattered was the difficulty of your schedule. Then schedule top teams who cares about wins and losses.

SOS accounts for 75% of the RPI formula. 50% of the formula is your opponents winning percentage, 25% your opponents/opponents winning percentage, and 25% your winning percentage. So basically RPI considers the opponents opponents winning percentage to be as relevant as the team winning percentage. It is actually an awful formula. There is no reason to use it.

Maybe. But Tony Jones is an idiot he doesn't help anyone's case.

                          • In considering this Delon Wright comparisons, I think that we must also consider how he also has the disadvantage of playing on a team where the 2nd best player is a disgustingly fat SF who can't shoot and just sucks overall. Clearly, both Haws and KC have better players around them.

So KC is an 11 year NBA player. That is great for him and his family!
