Putting Andrus off until 17-18 is likely to make sense and might be a mathematical necessity.

Finally, I still hope that BYU is actively recruiting one more JC/4 year graduate with a year of eligibility for next year. Even with Aytes the big situation looks concerning. I would think somebody will not be on scholarship next year between: Worthington, Sharp, or perhaps Winder, Bartley or Carlino. Time will tell. So my hope is for Andrus to elect the grayshirt then mission scenario along with another player moved along for a new big from either JC or a graduate transfer. My preference for the player to be moved along is likely Sharp as I see his contributions being the least.
Worthington is a mystery. He had a lot of offers including legit ones like DePaul and Butler. He is big can run he is awful. I don't think Carlino will be pushed off scholarship. That is crazy talk napper.

If Carlino has any more falling apart streaks I could see him transferring to a lower level. I doubt he is forced out. At this time my biggest concern is Bartley losing confidence in himself and Rose during this period of his freshman struggles as well as deciding Provo is no the place for him.

        • As Eric Mika doesn't' have his own thread yet I'll post this here. This old article was linked over on cb a couple days ago about the Mika family (more specifically their gigantic home). Damn they are loaded. Also Mitt Romney is Eric Mika's great uncle.

          • Sounds like it might be time to hit up great uncle Mitt for a donation for the Romney Basketball Practice Center.

But why stop there? Let's finish upgrading the MC with all blue seats and giant 8K video boards, and figure out how to add some suites.

Then we can remodel LES: fill in the corners; rip out the abominable bleachairs, bleachers, and old seats and make it all blue chairs; and add a nice exterior to conceal the erector set skeleton.

I think that would be a nice start.

While watching the Utah/BYU game I learned that his name is MEEka, not MYka. As soon as I learned the correct pronunciation, I realized that I knew his family from when they lived on the East Coast. They are really nice, absolutely rolling in cash, and HUGE Cougar fans.

I should probably reconnect with the Mikas and tell them that I think their son will be a great missionary and a wonderful ambassador for the church over the next two years after which he should probably declare for the draft.

I have told his father to disregard any Ute advice, because studies show BYU basketball players who go on missions are less religiously devout than those who serve basketball missions.

                  • I'm catching up from recording the game. Seems like Mika's hip is still bothering him. He's had a few lay ins get blocked where he'd normally be dunking with authority.

I thought the same thing. He wasn't nearly as explosive as he has been.

According to realtimerpi.com, Utah is once again the worst loss of our season:

                        5 - Massachussetts
                        9 - Iowa State
                        10 - Wichita State
                        20 - Oregon
                        123 - Pepperdine
                        153 - Loyola Marymount
                        159 - Utah

Oh, and we are still Utah's best win:

                        40 - BYU
                        100+ - 3 teams
                        200+ - 4 teams
                        300+ - 3 teams

Don't worry. Those might change after today.

Well one has changed. Dont worry as LMU keeps playing WCC teams, they will soon be your worst loss.

                              • Help me guys. I'm trying to remember. How many games has it been since BYU beat a ranked team? I know it's been a really long time, if ever, and I have a very demanding day job. To tell the truth I can't remember a single quality BYU win since Notre Dame in 1982 and none before that. Thanks in advance.
