Funk, watching you argue this point reminds me of something..... It's like playing one of my 7 year old sons made up games. The rules and point of the game always change when it's not going your way.

I haven't changed my argument. Yes, Arizona is 9-4. They also play a conference schedule that had more than 4 games in it they have to worry about. 3 of the 4 losses were to tournament teams. Knock them down a seed for the injury, but they win outright one of the top conferences, that puts then at worst a 2 seed.

I believe that the timing of the injury has something to do with being knocked down a seed or two.

When Kenyon Martin went down in 2000, it was in the conference tourney, just like Collinsworth.

Ashley at AZ got hurt on Feb 1. The team had several weeks to show what it could do without the player. The byu hasn't had that chance.

I'm not even sure what the argument is.
10 is a decent seed for the byu, but it's not like the selection committee gave them a 3. It's hardly a scandal.
Just go beat Oregon and prove that the 10 is better than the 7.

The bubble this year was very soft. None of the snubs have much of an argument. Utah has a better case than SMU. More top 100 wins and similar ooc strength of schedule.

The teams that missed out have nobody to blame but themselves. If Utah wins 2 or 3 of those last-possession games, they probably get in.

My argument was essentially byu should be thrilled with their seed. After the KC injury, they were a 12 seed or play in team that got a 10 because of playing a tough non conference schedule.

I'm very interested in who starts Thursday. Has Mika learned to start under control? I assume he'll start, but if he doesn't, I wish I could go back in time and, after the Pepperdine loss and the four-game skid, tell y'all that Luke will starting for tenth-seed BYU in the Western Regionals. I'd expect some skepticism back then.

And who are the other two starters (after Haws and Austin)? Carlino and Winder? My humble petition is that Carlino and Winder shoot >50% from the floor.

I agree with this 100%, except I think Utah needed a couple more road games against decent teams OOC. Loses on te road would have been better than crushing horrible teams at home. That is good news though. Utah surprised just about everyone this year. I'm sure if Coach K knew what he had, he would have given the team a shot at the tourney.

The last thing I want to do is engage in any Ute-on-Ute crime, so I'll bow out and let the guys who really know basketball have at it.
IMO, there just isn't that much difference in those numbers. To me, 1-4 are the golden tickets. 5-12 are often interchangeable. 13-16 is dog food.
But I could be wrong.
