Also, at about 16:30 here he talks about what the PAC-12 head of officiating told him about the no-calls on the in-bounds plays against Arizona, which should have been technical fouls:

Who cares about wins. What he's done is totally miraculous. Last season they should have won maybe one game (I've written about this in the past). They had a team of unrecruited JUCOS. This season, he's got a very good true freshman, and what else pray tell....? He's turned Jason Washburn into a scoring and rebounding machine -- against about as tough a competition as there is. The team is still a bunch of castaways, except Loveridge. And they lost to ASU and no. 3 ranked Arizona on the road by a total of 3 points (I count overtime losses as losing by 0 points; still they lost by only 1 in the OT).

I do think UCLA will win in a not so close game. But I thought we'd get blown out by Arizona, really ugly, because the team would be exhausted after that gruelling OT ASU game. We have yet to lose really ugly. The two home losses were beautiful for over half the games.

My only real concern right now is recruiting. Clearly, K, etc. can coach like the dickens (my personal theory is that Tommy Connor has had no small role in this progress; the team looks a lot like Majerus' old teams; if K is treating this as an interlude, Connor deserves to be the next HC). But they have not yet had a blockbuster recruit, except maybe Loveridge. They are cleaning up the state outside of Lone Peak. That is back to normal, but those recruits are mostly of symbolic importance.

Well said. It will be another season or two before blue chippers want to come to Utah. A decent season this year will surprise many and will obviously help with recruiting. But the direction of the program is clear: upward!

I agree. We are one perimeter scorer, or one take charge point creator (the proverbial "go to guy"), from being 13-1. We've just lacked that dagger in the heart shot maker. DuBois just isn't quite one of those; a good kid, but not really the high pressure situation lacerating scorer we need. Were CJ Wilcox on this team we'd be 13-1 or even 14-0. CJ would also be a better player than he is because Romar isn't a great developer of talent (he's a better recruiter of talent).
