BYU vs. #3 Baylor - oops, nevermind the ranking, that's the Lady Bears

The highly anticipated matchup is finally here, and tickets are hard to come by:

Baylor basketball tickets have been discounted for Friday’s men’s game against BYU and the Dec. 29 women’s game against Southeastern Louisiana. All tickets for both games are now on sale for $5, and service charges have been waived.

We know byu71 has other plans for tonight. Who's going to be watching?

The Baylor Bears and the BYU Cougars face off on Friday in college basketball action.

The Baylor Bears have won three of their last four and after a disappointing start to the year Scott Drew’s team is putting together some wins. Baylor has played the 54th ranked schedule in the nation and while they have a talented team it may have been a little too muc too fast to start the year. As a team Baylor is averaging 76.7 points, 15.1 assists, and they are shooting 48.1 percent while defensively they are allowing 65.3 points, 13.3 assists, and their opponents are shooting 42.2 percent from the floor. Pierre Jackson is averaging 19.3 points and 6.0 assists, Isaiah Austin is averaging 13.9 points and 8.6 rebounds, Cory Jefferson is averaging 13.2 points and 8.0 rebounds, and Brady Heslip is averaging 10.1 points. Baylor plays at Gonzaga next week before starting their Big 12 schedule.

The BYU Cougars have won three games in a row and are looking like they will have a solid shot at returning to the NCAA Tournament. BYU has played the 59th ranked schedule and they are 1-1 on the road this season. As a team BYU is averaging 77.1 points, 17.4 assists, and they are shooting 45.3 percent while defensively they are allowing 69.3 points, 13.2 assists, and their opponents are shooting 41.8 percent. Tyler Haws is averaging 20.3 points and 5.5 rebounds, Brandon Davies is averaging 19.2 points and 7.3 rebounds, and Brock Zylstera is averaging 7.3 points. BYU’s last road game against a Big 12 team they were trounced by Iowa State by 21 points three weeks ago.

Baylor is 5-1 against the spread against the WCC, 7-19 against the spread following a win, and 2-6 against the spread in their last eight non-conference games. BYU is 3-7 against the spread following a win, 2-6 against the spread in their last eight non-conference games, and 1-6 against the spread in their last seven road games.

This should be a fun one to watch but BYU hasn’t given me too much to be confident about as they have struggled against the better teams.

    Mitch’s Pick: Baylor -8
In this article, we will formulate a BYU vs Arizona Prediction for this College Football Week 7 game on Saturday, October 12th, at the LaVell Edwards

BYU has played a lot of bad defense this year. So far in this game, it seems much better (with the exception of the first possession).

Davies needs to be in the game. BYU looks lost without him.

Baylor just scored, what, 6 points without BYU even touching the ball? Can't have to many of those.
