Dre claims 2 of the 4 he missed he didn't want to sit out and was forced to by Cleveland.

Also, 1 of the 4 that he missed was a bullshit suspension. Griffin deserved what he got and it really wasn't that hard of a hit anyway.

The fact that he is still effective as a PG at 35 is impressive.

But seeing what's since happened to Chauncey, who actually got to the pros two seasons before Miller, inevitability leaves you marveling at Dre's ridiculous durability, which is positively Randy Smith-esque.

Since making his debut with Cleveland in the 1999-2000 season, Miller has missed a total of four games. Only four other players, according to the Elias Sports Bureau, had missed four or fewer games by the time they had played in 1,000. That very short list:

I will say this: Detmer and Andre were doing just as much at 35 as they were at 25. Unfortunately, for Detmer that meant sitting on the bench. For Andre, it meant doing what he had done for the previous 12 seasons, which was averaging 15-4-7.

Contributions by Bronco and Lavell now that is rich. 1. Associate AD Duff Tittle wrote a book that has been done hundreds of times before. Sorry Ute fans we have a large market so these books generally do very well. 2. He asks Bronco and Lavell a favor just so he can use their names to sell books. BYU fans are not fooled we know who Duff Tittle is and that 3. this book is probably lame.

On top of that this book is also sold at the bookstore why buy from Amazon when you can support your school?

1. By who? Can't really broach this topic without differentiating between Deseret Book imprints vs. national publishers.

2. Truth be told, the best measure of which fanbase is a stronger consumer of such media would be to compare numbers of the Vault series that came out for both schools about 12-18 months ago. They're both similarly priced -- $49.95 retail, IIRC.

My book is soft-cover; Duff's is hardcover. Mine should sell more based on that distinction alone. We share the same publisher, so I could probably get a good idea as to total copies sold of each book, but I could never share them here.

3. I think you're missing out. I finally got a look see at "What It Means ..." just last week for the first time. It's a good read, and Duff certainly knows his audience. I can't imagine why a BYU fan wouldn't enjoy reading it.

That said, there's going to be a different approach between books written by someone working in the school's athletic department vs. someone writing independently of the school -- I'd be lying if I was certain my entries on the recruitment of O.J. Simpson, the 1989 Holy War and 2007 UNLV would gain universal approval from the Utah athletic department for inclusion in any book about Utah athletics.

I disagree. Wallace Stegner could have been Utah's Faulkner, but you won't see anything commemorating him. The ony people who get any credit are LDS, and if you critiqued or were somehow opposed to LDS institutions you will be systematically precluded from the Utah history books no matter how great you may be.

One knock against Miller is that he could have come to Utah had he wanted. When Stockton retired, Miller's contract with Cleveland was up and he was offered a contract to come play for the Jazz. But he was too afraid to be the guy who followed a HoF player and instead, signed with the Clippers.
