Wow. I just tuned in and the Utes are ahead 48-21 with 12:00 to go in the second half. And I thought they wouldn't win another game this year.

How bad is ASU?
Wow.
ASU is AWFUL.
Utah doesn't have to worry about being the worst team in the PAC12 anymore.
Certainly not the worst in the history of the state of Utah.
The questions about them being the worst in the history of DI hoops were premature.
Some silver lining to a huge dark cloud.
ASU must be absolutely awful. Utah just lost by what? 26? At home vs. Arizona. Wow ASU. You suck.

Another 20 pt blowout. I gave my tickets to my little brother due to my son's bball game. The snow has downed a power line so we're in a gym without lights."You interns are like swallows. You shit all over my patients for six weeks and then fly off."

Power-ranked 5th, which I think is too high. WCC ranked 8th. Don't know if that's wrong or not. WCC champ got an 11 seed in last year's tournament. In any event, ASU must be awful too.Originally posted by LiveCoug View PostThe PAC 12 is something awful. It is wrong, the basketball being played in the PAC right now is some of the worst I have seen. They are a one seed conference and that seed will be about 8.Originally posted by LA Ute View PostPower-ranked 5th, which I think is too high. WCC ranked 8th. Don't know if that's wrong or not. For this season at least, I think you are right. I don't know how anyone ranks them 5th.Originally posted by Coach McGuirk View PostIt is wrong, the basketball being played in the PAC right now is some of the worst I have seen. This game will be nice for Storey's confidence. And it's nice for the team to know that they aren't lost without Jiggy.“There is a great deal of difference in believing something still, and believing it again.”

Wow. Arizona State seems to be worse than we are right now. Anything to not remind me how big of a joke the program is.

There isn't a lot of talent in the league right now, outside of Washington and Arizona. There are probably a lot of different reasons, I blame Ben Howland. He came in and with a crop of talent that if still together would be a decent NBA team, dominated the league. That is nothing new at UCLA, however he did it by changing from West Coast bball to a slow grind and bang East Coast ball.Originally posted by Coach McGuirk View PostIt's quite incredible really, wen you consider the basketball history of the league. Can't figure out what is happening.
In years since UCLA's 3 straight Final Four runs, other teams in the then P10 started trying to slow things down. WSU with Bennett and now Bone, ASU with Sendek, Oregon State with First BIL, Southern Cal with Larry David. All focus on a half court slow tempo game. IMO as a result kids that in years past would have been locks to attend a Pac school are looking elsewhere. Just in the state of Oregon, a small D1 talent producer, the best players in recent years have gone to Kentucky, Duke, Vanderbilt leaving the Pac in their rearview. If the Pac schools don't start getting home grown talent to stay home, it isn't going to change anytime soon.Get confident, stupid

lol power rankings don't lie. There's a computer doing it, right? This is all circular. Utah has won a couple of games against Pac teams, played a couple of other top half of the conference teams to the wire, so the Pac must suck. No. 5 is too high because Coach McGwirk says so? well, that is dispositive, if Coach says so.
Go ahead and say it, LA. The Pac is down but it's still a lot better than the WCC in a very down year. How good is BYU, losing at home by 14 to the Loyola Marymount Lions? UTah and BYU are moving in different directions, I know that much.
You Utefans make me want to puke (well, LA only a little bit; and not U-Ute and others). Fans like Portland and TopUte have had the program they deserve the past five years.
This is a team that lost at home to Cal State Fullerton by 31. Why aren't you celebrating the visible improvement? Why aren't you celebrating the fact that for the first time since Majerus we are seeing a take no prisoners ethic on defense? Why aren't you celebrating that for the first time in seven years we have a promising young point guard? Why aren't you celebrating that for the first time in five years we've seen a team improve, not get worse as the season progresses? Why aren't you celebrating that K showed the courage of his convictions with yet another deeply flawed Boylen recruit and the team responded positively? When a true genius appears, you can know him by this sign: that all the dunces are in a confederacy against him.
