Let the healing begin! Pepperdine is 7-11 overall and 1-6 in conference play. They come into today's game on a six-game losing streak. They played St. Mary's pretty well, though, in their last game. How will the Cougars fare in Malibu? I predict a good inside game from the Cougars and a solid victory today.

The plot will thicken as rivalries amongst the top-half of the WCC begins to emerge.
The SMC/Gonzaga has become one of the most underrated rivalries West of the Mississippii -- just watch the two fan bases go at in Las Vegas. Both student sections go insane for one another, screaming, cheering, yelling across the Arena and carries over in the Casino pre- & post-game...it can be ugly as well as beautiful. Friendly as well as hated.
I expect the same to develop b/w BYU & Gonzaga, BYU & SMC, etc.
Plus, with the exponential improvements of LMU & Santa Clara, it will continue to make things interesting...
Keep in mind, Gonzaga went undefeated(14-0) in WCC 4 times since 2003.
Things are changing for us all.
I promise you, it will get better -- have I been wrong yet?

Also, WCC has 2 Top-25 teams this season, w/ BYU just outside. If you guys beat VT, GU @home, redemption vs SMC, we could have 3 teams in the Polls at various points in the season. Not too shabby. Gonzaga just dropped out and still receiving votes. St Mary's is entrenched and BYU can still crack it...Comment
