    Really?

I should have said BYU 'Basketball' history as I love all-things College Basketball and its storied past and present...

Ok, can't believe I'm doing this(I'll be brief):

1.) One my favorite College & NBA players of all-time -- outside of John Stockton, of course -- was the BYU legend, Danny Ainge.

2.) Stan Watts was one of the premier, most consistent NCAA Coaches through the 50's & 60's, imo. He got the most out of somewhat limited talent compared to any other Coach in the West at the time.

3.) While the NCAA Tournament success has been somewhat hit & miss over the years, I respect the fact BYU is ranked in the Top-25 for All-time wins in NCAA Hoops with 1500+ wins.

4.) I'm a big time fan of current head Coach, Dave Rose, who holds one of the best winning %'s of active Coaches over 150+ games. Coach Few is #2 & I believe Coach Rose is #4.

5.) Lastly, being a Gonzaga fan, we respect the fact BYU was the FIRST D1 hoops team to feature an International player on its roster, Timo Lampen via Finland in '58. As you may or may not know, Gonzaga features 8 players from Countries outside the US, including 3 current starters. The Cougs broke the mold in recruiting overseas players in College Hoops. Kresimir Cosic was another foreign star for Cougs, maybe even Rafael Araújo? Along the same lines as UTEP & Black players of the day.

Are you talking about Gonzaga's WCC championships?

                How old is this guy?

I think my dad is barely old enough to remember Watts' early coaching years.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

This list rocks. HR just went up a couple notches in my book.
"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

Impressive list indeed. Did HR admire BYU basketball so much that he contributed to the wiki?

I think he might be messing with us

I think we need a list of at least 3 things he admires that are NOT on wiki or easily googled.

Are you serious? C'mon man. This is getting pathetic. Just live & let live. Besides, there are only 2 of the 5 things on my list even mentioned on the 'BYU Wiki page' you referenced. What if I said, "can you name 5 things not listed in any history book/encylopedia/wiki/etc re: BYU hoops?" Sounds a bit crazy/conspiracy theorist/paranoid doesn't it? Take it or leave it. I don't have to prove anything, I did my best with USF, BYU, WCC, & GU knowledge to offer the fact I'm a fan of COLLEGE BASKETBALL in general. That has been proven in spades. Tough crowd around here.

that has got to be incredibly tough. Unimaginable.

                            Honest question/answer needed:

Have any of you watched at least one Gonzaga game this year?

I can honestly say I have watched BYU play(all 40 mins) vs Utah St, Nevada, Wisconsin, Baylor, & St Mary's. edit to add, I also saw most of the UCSB game as well.

How about you guys? I feel I know quite a bit about your team, the players, style of play, type of offense, defense, strengths/weaknesses, etc.

Just trying to get a gauge on how much you know about Gonzaga this season...as I've only noticed one poster the board thus far who can actually name Zag players and soundly discuss basketball with --- I want to know who else has a feel for their conference foe/future rival.

BYU fans are used to fans of other teams caring a lot more about BYU's team than we do about yours.

its called respect. also, healthy competition. ever notice how the all-time greats amongst coaching and players almost seem to know more about the opposition than they do about their own team? I realize its Coach Rose & Co. concern more than any BYU fan or forum, but at the end of the day, it makes sports much more interesting when you know your opponent.

As Sun Tzu was famously quoted as saying:

"It is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you will not be imperiled in a hundred battles; if you do not know your enemies but do know yourself, you will win one and lose one; if you do not know your enemies nor yourself, you will be imperiled in every single battle."
