At the moment, not much other than conference affiliation. But that doesn't really matter right now. I'm not going to say that Krystko won't put together a team that can play until I see him fail. If that happens, Utah could take advantage of being in the PAC12 when recruiting.

And the Pac-12 is actually as bad as this jealous fan claims. They are abysmal right now. UCLA was supposed to be better but they have some terrible losses. Arizona was supposed to be the cream of the conference along with Cal. Arizona lost to Miss. State and then to SDSU. Cal just got drummed by Mizzou by nearly 40 points! Stanford is 5-0 but I bet they lose by at least 20 to Syracuse tomorrow.

Sure the Pac 10 is a proud conference with great tradition. But comparatively they are, as I said before, a shadow of their former selves.
We will see where the Pac-12 is at later in the season. One thing that watching Majerus teams taught me is that November/December doesn't mean shit in hoops. Utah has some bad losses in November/December when the Utes were developing the team, but when conference/NCAA time started the teams were great.

The Pac-12 is certainly not at their top right now, but smack on the conference should be reserved for fans of teams from conferences that actually have some smack to run. If a ACC, Big East, Big 12, or Big 10 team comes and run some smack, it has some meaning. Hell, a MWC team may have some legit sack, the WCC on the other hand, has nothing on the Pac-12. Focus in on getting 2 teams in the tourny this year, not on running smack on the Pac-12.

Mark Few would kill more hookers than the FIVE (5) HOOKERS CRAIG JAMES KILLED AT SMU to have Gonzaga play in a conference the quality of the Pac12. Same goes for Dave Rose and BYU.

Wow. Hysterical. Funk I know you don't go to games, but if you did I bet you'd lead the Pac 12 chants.

Speaking of Majerus led teams, SLU beat Washington this week.

That's a legitimate point. And it already seems to have won Utah at least one recruit in Loveridge. Krysko certainly has his work cut out for him. Tall task with little fan support and talent.

Yep. Fortunately for all of us, senioritis supports Ute hoops and can update this board with any progress.

Wow. Just wow. That was hideous.

First, the obvious: Lack of size. Lack of shooting ability. Lack of defensive recognition. Lack of offensive movement. Flat footed rebounding. Washburn's best move is towel waving.

Other than that, we're in good shape.

Now, let's see if we can pull out the jeweler's loop and find a couple of edible bits in this foot long turd sandwich.
              • Wilkinson is undersized, but shows a lot of effort. Scrappy on the boards.
              • Outside of Foster, Dawson is our best interior defender, but is undersized at 6-6. At 260, he needs to learn how to use use the junk in his trunk to move guys out of the key. Once they get low on him, they just shoot over him.
              • Story has decent handles and can get to the rim pretty good. Can't shoot worth a lick though. He needs to be locked in a gym next summer.
              • Matthews seems athletic, but he needs to be locked in the same gym as Story. His shot... *shudder*...
              • During the huddle shots, Krysko was obviously unconcerned with the score of the game and was focused on teaching. There was no frustration on his face. Here is a man who knows his situation.

This is going to be a long, painful road.

Instead of making fun of the Utes for losing to hoops powerhouse Harvard, I'd like to take this opportunity to remind the Pac12 that karma's a bitch.

I understand the Edgemont 2nd Ward men's hoops team has called Dr. Hill to challenge the "men's" basketball team to an exhibition game next saturday.

Sounds like Utah hoops is working its way towards BYU's football competition slowly but surely

Edgemont 9th is way better than Edgemont 2nd this year.

Clearly only fans from the ACC can really understand that the Pac12 sucks this year. Those poor souls that cheer for teams from the WCC, they've got no clue about recognizing what teams are good or not. Nor do they have the right to discuss what a quality conference is or not, that is reserved for teams that consistently get 3+ teams in the dance.

However, fans of a team that was in the MWC last year and that lost at home to Montana State and got drilled by 30 by Harvard, they know what's going on.

If you posted some of the things posted here in a BYU thread you would be drawn and quartered. That's a dynamic that I have never understood.

Harvard is a good team. Pomeroy has them at #40. I'm interested to see how they fair vs Florida State.
