  • Will BYU beat USU?

I am thinking no. I expect USU to win by about 6. Low seventies/high sixties to mid sixties to low sixties.

I really have no idea or expectation for this game. I believe in the end their pg will be their key player. I think neither team will shoot well and we will turn it over a bunch. When Davies gets it down low he will play pretty well, but I think USU will do an effective job of preventing BYU from getting it down there. If we do win I guess we will have a bundle of offensive boards. I don't think we shoot well. It will also likely be a boring game. I am skeptical I keep my interest throughout the entire thing.

I also think USU will declare victory and cancel the rest of their road and neutral games.

USU wins. Both schools are rebuilding a little this season. While I think they are close in ability, the Spectrum is an incredible home court advantage.

Pane is one of the best players in the WAC and he will give our guards fits. We are better than they are inside, but Jardine is an incredible athlete that will be able to guard and board with anyone that we have. In addition, Stew usually has a very good defensive scheme. I expect he will make it tough for Davies and Hartsock, and without those guys dominating I don't see us winning.

Aggies by 8 to 10 points.

I say USU by 15. I'm still not high on this team. I don't think USU will be anything to write home about, but playing in a tough environment, I think this one gets away from the Cougs a bit. I think they're a year away at best from competing at a high level again.

USU is a 1/2 point favovite. I predict BYU wins pushing football even further back in the spotlight.

I predict vegas recovers up from the jimmer hangover by tomorrow morning. 1/2 pointsin the Spectrum? Wow I would find action on that if I ever bet on BYU games.

You are all wusses, losers and malcontents (as well as gypsys, tramps and thieves)

              Of course BYU wins.

You should go up to the Spectrum tonight so you can understand the type of advantage that place is. The only way BYU wins up there is if they are much better than USU. This year BYU and USU are probably close in ability.

I am also shocked. However, there are some really smart betters out there and if this is truly a bad line they will be jumping all over it.

I was actually planning on it but the Gobinator had surgery this week. He and I have a date with Lego Harry Potter this evening and tomorrow. Im not even attending the football game tomorrow night because he and I are going to hang. But I will be flipping the channels this evening to watch BYU emerge glorious, notorious and victorious.

BYU will win. USU inside guys will have foul trouble. We'll hit 10+ 3's. The Davies signs will run the gamut from mildly to wildly offensive.

The line opened Utah St -2 and has been bet the other way. It's currently BYU -1 at Pinnacle. The betting market likes BYU in this spot.

FWIW, Pomeroy has BYU as 5.33 points better. Factoring in home court, the line seems about right.

Steve Cleveland says BYU, because their Greece trip gives them the edge in a game of two teams that will have a lot of soul searching to do this season.

BYU wins by the combined number of three-pointers made by Rogers and Zylstra. I'm saying Cougs by 6.

These lines almost get me to break my personal rule about betting on BYU games.

BTW more than 1500 USU students have been camping out to get in the Spectrum...that place will be insane tonight. Home court advantage at the Spectrum is more than 5 points IMHO.
