This is not unexpected. It is ok guys. This will be a completely different team by the time February gets here. It is very very very difficult to win in Logan.

Okay, sorry about the salty language, everyone, but I didn't realize I would be tuning in to the Aggie Cocksucking Network this evening. Even BYUtv tones it down just a little."I'm anti, can't no government handle a commando / Your man don't want it, Trump's a bitch! I'll make his whole brand go under,"

Agree 100%. No reason to jump to conclusions that the season is a loss (not that anyone is doing that here).Originally posted by Flystripper View PostThis is not unexpected. It is ok guys. Speaking of officiating, when are you going to tell me how many quiz questions I missed? I think I probably got some right even though my reasoning was wrong.Originally posted by tooblue View PostThe officiating is awful tonight on both sides of the floor ... a tell tale sign is all of the offensive fouls that have been called.Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss
There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

The one thing I got from this game is that WCC officials like to call offensive fouls."Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance and the gospel of envy; its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." - Winston Churchill

Rats. I hate aggie fans."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

Takeaways from the game:
WCC refs suck. I have talked to Gonzaga fans about this in the past and I thought they were overstating it but they are not. We are going to hate it and have trouble with their reffing style.
Zylstra had a bad night. Some on here want to toss him under the bus for playing poorly against one of the better PGs we will play this year in his first real game as a PG. Add to it that he was at a hostile arena and I think you might be asking a bit much. Did he have a good game? No. Does that mean we should ignore the circumstances and bury the kid? I say we shouldn't but you can judge yourselves. I don't disagree with the Cusick comments. He might be a better solution but doesn't seem to know our man defensive rotations at all.
Davies struggled. Want to blame someone for not showing up that we really needed to show up? Blame Davies, not Zylstra. Davies needed to be a mainstay in this game and we needed him to own the Aggies. Instead, he was in foul trouble early and forgot to play defense for most of the night.
Hartsock was ballin'. Someone here discounted his post play in the Dixie State game. I believe discounting it there was justified. In this game he had solid post play again and he did it against a D centered on stopping the post. Great work by the senior.
Abouo surprised me. I was pleased with his offensive production. I wish he was more consistent. I felt bad for him guarding Payne (sp).
Rogers has nice O but still can't guard.
Nate Austin showed why I'm excited about him for the future. He has decent athleticism for great size. He will be a nice player next year or the year after. I'm especially excited about his ability to shoot the ball. The announcers clearly knew their Utah HS hoops because that has always been Austin's M.O. He used to high ball screen and then fade instead of roll. If he caught it deep he could drill it with the best of them and it left Haws in a paint without a big man to double him.
Harrison didn't show up when inserted.
CC sucked.
Our offense was the same we had last year but Abouo/Rogers/Zylstra are not Jimmer/Jackson/KC. I'm not sure what the solution is against ball pressure but I suspect the solution is Rogers. He can handle very well for his size and that is usually how I prefer to break ball pressure, pick my best ball handler for his size and use that guy to break the pressure apart. We stagnated in the half court for a bit. Rice's offense had this problem for years but I forgot about it because Jimmer would clean it up for us. Someone needs to be aggressive and push the action. I hoped it would be Davies but his early fouls put us in trouble and dampened his aggression.
All in all, not a bad performance. We were in that game and showed some of the pieces we will need to perform later this season. I'm frustrated we aren't farther ahead because of our Greece trip but we can build from here and our schedule is flaccid enough that we should be OK until we can get the youngsters going.
