I would too. But maybe it's not that big of a deal. Rose needed Rice the last fe years, going through the cancer thing, and helping him create this offensive philosophy we've evolved into. Now the strategic stuff can go into cruise control and Rose has more energy to spend time guiding a young coaching staff.

Wow that's an incredibly optimistic view of things. Strike all that. I'm down on that staff as well.

Is Judkins a possibility? Or has he been doing the women's game so long that he's out of the loop on the men's side? What about bringing Schroyer back?
      Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Hall is not ready for a promotion. I believe he is director of basketball operations, which is the lowest man on the totem pole.

Hall played a while after leaving BYU, he just started coaching. His first gig was for Rose.

We spent the year in the national spotlight. Our former assistant coach was just hired as head coach of a tournament team. Coach Rose has built up a ton of good will. The assistant head coach position at BYU has never been as attractive as it is now. I would be shocked if Rose didn't bring in an experienced, well qualified assistant.

Utah sucks right now and our staff of Andy Hill, Tommy Connor, and DeMarlo Slocum blows that staff away and it isn't like we have a great staff (except for Connor).
It is a good thing Utah has such an awesome staff, unfortunately the Utes lack the personnel to put rubber on asphalt, so too speak.

I don't think Rose would stick around without the autonomy and money to pick good assistants.

One of my worries is the big men. Rice was coaching the bigs. I wonder who will do so now. I know Fred Roberts would love to work with the bigs but I don't know if he would do it as a coach. I suspect he wouldn't.

What this guy said. Besides that the staff needs at least one coach that is not LDS.

I would think that Heath Schroyer will be an applicant. Heck, with his buy out from WYO I am not even sure how much we would have ot pay him. God bless WYO, unable to beat BYU in hoops and they also pay our assistant coaches saving the Mormon Church lots of money so that we can go afford to go and buy their wastelands.........

I know for a fact that he would jump at the opportunity to be a coach on the staff.
