    DELETED.

Sorry Viking. I love you, man.

Did you expect anything else? At whatever point BYU lost, this was going to happen.

        • Interesting parallel of the last few neutral sites for BYU.

Struggled shooting out the gate at the T&M against TCU, squeak out a win. Next game shot lights out against UNM

Next site, struggled shooting against Wofford, unimpressive win. Next game, shot lights out against Gonzaga

Next site, struggled shooting against FLA in first game.

Shooters take some time to get comfortable in a certain gym, unfortunately, Floridais too good a team to have an off night against.

                  • Looking at the box score BYU had 14 FGs by players other than Jimmer, Jimmer had 5 assists on those 14 buckets. He truly had no help.

I felt this way after Drca and Tillie finished their careers at Utah, but for very different reasons...the tears still came though.

In all seriousness, Jimmer is one hell of a player, and it's hard to not get caught up in wanting to see him play more when he's out there carrying the team on his back.

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

                        • 1) I don't think Davies substantially changes this game. We didn't lose because of a lack of inside play.

                          2) We are a team of shooters with defensive heart. We played with a lot of hustle and effort but didn't make shots. Shooters lose when they don't make heart.

                          3) Florida is a good team. We probably split with them in a 10 game series. They outplayed us and deserved to win.

                          4) This game was not played fast enough for us to win but we still had a shot.

                          5) The "over the back" call on Tyus hurt us. If the ref just gives us the ball on an OOB by Florida, we get to run our offense. As it was, our worst free-throw shooter is at the line.

                          6) I love Jimmer going for dagger shots. He's made so many of those that I don't feel bad about him missing. I wish he had made them for his sake. He deserved at least one more game.

                          • I hate to be the one to post this but the one thing that hurt us more than anything else was Jimmers defense. I told surfah 3 minutes in to that game that Florida was attacking Jimmers side and he was getting exposed. It showed up even more in OT. He could not keep the Florida guards out of the line.

I agree that Jimmer's D hurt. We had to play man and he couldn't guard Boynton or Walker. Don't forget though, we also didn't have the guys to guard Tyus and Macklin at the same time. Noah could guard one or the other OK but KC was in trouble all the time. Now that I'm thinking more about it. We got torched defensively all over the floor. We just didn't have the horses to defend in a man set at that level but we couldn't play zone because of their three point shooters.

                              • Here's what I blame for the loss in order of impact.

                                1. Kyle Collinsworth offensive liability. The five out offense is not ideal, but the only way it's ever going to work is if you have to actually guard all five guys on the perimeter. Florida didn't have to guard KC. His guy sagged in the key all game or double teamed Jimmer. Whenever we kicked out and rotated it around, KC was always the guy open, but he wouldn't/couldn't do anything with it. I'm big on the kid's future and his defensive rebounding absolutely was vital in the post-Davies era, but he really hurt the offensive flow.

                                2. The poor one-sided officiating in that 6-8 minute stretch in the second half. I really am never one to blame ref's and I admit I was pretty caught up in emotion, so I may be stretching it, I'll have to watch the replay (no screw that I'm not watching it) to see if I'm accurate. But it seemed like there were at least a half dozen calls that were brutally bad that all went against us that cost us 10-12 points that really would have been the difference in the game.
                                1. Noah mauled on a layup attempt
                                2. Guy sticking out his leg to trip Jimmer, no call.
                                3. Jimmer knocked around like a pinball on a drive in the key and gets called for a charge.
                                4. Jax technical
                                5. Rogers tackled on a baseline three. This was right in front of me. The ref turned his head to the basket just as Rogers shot the ball and actually did not see the guy tackle Rogers. They both fell the floor with the Florida guy on top of him and none of the three ref's saw it. How do you have three ref's on the court and not watch the f***ing shot attempt.
                                6. seems like there were a couple more but not recalling right now

                                3. No post offense and inside/out game. We go inside out one time. Jimmer angle right passes in to Noah, Jax screens Jimmer, who goes to baseline. Noah out to Jimmer, three, swish. One time and it works. What would it be like if we had Davies to do that 10 times a game, or to actually count on Davies to be able to score it, or even demand a double team.

                                4. Jimmer's shooting. I'm not blaming him for taking the tough shots he did adn missing them. FL's defense was tough and nobody else was doing much. But he did miss some open shots he normally makes. Especially those two at the end of the game, both open, either one of them could have won the game.

p.s. as I type a group of Wisconsin players are standing within earshot of me while a dad tells them about Jimmer's charge, the Jax T, etc. saying the ref's screwed BYU.
