Obviously BYU will have its own threads, but I didn't see a general thread for the tourney.

I am watching the ugly USC v VCU game.

How in the hell did the PAC 10 (7th best conference) get 4 teams in and the Colonial (10th best conference) get 3 teams in the tourney and the MWC 4th best conference can't get a 4th team in?

I was thinking I would take USC as an upset over Gtown...now that Wright is back and after witnessing 16 minutes of this disgusting game....no way.

I wish I knew if Irving was going to play in this tournament. His return may impact my decision regarding Duke and I don't think we will know until it is too late . Lots of speculation that he will return but nothing is certain...

I think these teams would have lost last night as well. These teams suck.

Can someone explain these play-in games, why they didn't make 8 16 seeds and force them to play in like they used to, and why they randomly selected 11 or 12 to be the play in games? And why is the first round now the second round? And if you're a 12 and you beat a 12, does that mean you have a tournament win under your belt and isn't that lame? We go 20 years without a tourney win and two 50th rated teams play each other and someone gets a tourney win out of it?

I think UNM with a healthy Gary could have won a game or two in the NCAA tourney had they gotten in.

yeah it is stupid. They should have used the bottom 8 teams and had 4 play in games for a 16 seed...but then even less people would have watched these games and CBS has a new broadcast partner to keep happy

CSU did themselves no favors losing to Air Force late in the season, then bowing out in the first round of the MWC tournament. And New Mexico's wins over BYU were very nice, obviously, but their RPI was horrible.

Abstractly the MWC deserved a 4th team, but picking that 4th team in reality proved to be too much of a hurdle.
