I'm surprised about y'all picking Market over the inventor of the Cabbage Patch Doll. I'm not going to provide my reasoning, it's just more points for me in my bracket.
I'm not picking a ton of upsets. I have Richmond over Vandy and Belmont over Wisconsin and Missouri over Cincy. I'm getting extremely tempted to pick the Zags over St. Johns. Spokane is a relative hop, skip and a jump to Denver and Spokane's elevation is around 2000 feet. I think they'll fare better in Denver than a team from NYC. But St. Johns has beaten so many good teams, I'm divided.
BYU's region is wacky --
Pitt historically is not a good tourney team.
Florida is ridiculously overseeded
BYU is depleted w/out Davies
Wisconsin, they're from the Big 10 and they don't play well away from home
St. Johns is depleted like BYU
Michigan State was a bubble team this year
Don't believe in the Zags this year
Which leaves me with K-State and UCLA in the elite 8. I picked K-State because of its elite wins, but I can just as well see UCLA. Both are well coached teams that play great defense, but I'm going with K-State because of Pullen.
...but Jacob Pullen is sick and they're playing a very good Utah State team. Yikes, time to hedge and go with UCLA (which is going up against the best coach in college basketball in the first round). I can't make heads or tails out of this region.Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

The Southeast Region is wide open. Nothing short of a 14-16 seed advancing would surprise me.Originally posted by Color Me Badd Fan View PostI'm surprised about y'all picking Market over the inventor of the Cabbage Patch Doll. Does anyone here know TheBYUGuy outside of CUF, like on Facebook or otherwise? His last CUF login was on 1/19, and I think he only signed up because Yahoo sent out an email invite to everyone who was in the money bracket last year and he was one of those. I just doubt that he knows it's $10, but I'd like to hear from him before I delete his bracket from our group.
Also, it appears that the jackpot is going to be $640 ($650 if TheBYUGuy comes through); wow. I think in 2009 when Lebowski won it was about $80, and last year for DrumNFeather it was about $150 I think.

I guess I picked the wrong year to be right.Originally posted by I.J. Reilly View PostBetter economic times."They're good. They've always been good" - David Shaw.
Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

I am enjoying my0-30-4 record so far. I wouldn't mind losing every game as long as BYU wins. Should they lose tonight, my excitement for the tourney will probably cool. As is, in an hour I'm outta here and headed home. Nothing more to be accomplished today.Last edited by I.J. Reilly; 03-17-2011, 01:28 PM.
